Laminate M2 IPS Mod. OSD menu sporadically opens and changes settings without user input.

I have a laminate M2 IPS mod installed on my Game Boy advance SP. However the OSD menu at random times continues to pop up and change settings on my unit. I’ve opened it up and looked at the instructions, but everything seems to check out and there’s no issues with the brightness button or the wire soldered to the spot. The instructions show that it should be. Please see attached photos for more info. Apologies it is upside down based on how I had the unit.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? It doesn’t seem like a brightness button issue due to everything being as it should per the instructions and I am fresh out of ideas. I do not know of any other button combinations that can bring up the OSD menu for this MOD kit. If there is please tell me so I can just solder the brightness button and use the other SP buttons instead.

I know many are excited for the AES+ (myself included) but wanted to share this here as a new community member. I received a NeoGeo AES today that I won from a WhatNot auction and I have to say I am so impressed by what I received. Before anyone asks, $820ish for it all before shipping/taxes.

First of all everything is in great condition. No major scratches or blemishes to see. No dust at all in the system and from what I know/understand this appears to be a VERY FIRST print of the console? Based on the NEO-AES on the MOBO with no revisions/numbers next to it. Serial/production# on the back is in the 11k range and it looks like the AC adapter is a 5v instead of an 8? 9?

Either way I can't test it yet because there's a massive thunderstorm rolling but need to get some AES games soon! Lemme just find where I stashed that extra 10-grand.....

My questions are:

  1. Do I need a color-corrector kit for this version?

  2. Is the 5v/9v power thing an issue when playing?
