Looking for Privacy Focused Emby Setup

I currently run the Emby server on a Synology NAS, with Amazon Firesticks as clients throughout the house.

I am looking to improve privacy and get rid of the Firesticks. What are the best client side devices to stream to, that don't constantly collect data and/or phone home?

Is Emby not even the answer for this? Do I need to go Jellyfin and build small computers for each TV?

Words cannot describe the sense of relief

Nearly 2 years in the making. I mostly work from home so it took forever. But I finally have it. The last big challenge I had in place before BANK goes down. It still hasnt fully set in yet.

In response to a recent post about the Alibaba Die Cutter being about $70

Please tell me how it was only $70? It was about $70 until I clicked to proceed and then it added the import charges, added $50 to the shipping charges, payment processing fee etc. Is this just my location, or are they not paying attention to the total as they proceed through the checkout process?

Edit: Not saying anyone was being malicious. just trying to understand why my price is $50-$100 more. just wanted to make sure people were not getting screwed or anything by missing the price change after they enter their address.

it seems that the extra cost is shipping from CA to east coast, and this thing is heavy.

Trying to figure out how to make my Set Cube packs feel as close to retail as possible.

Apologies in advance for this long post. It is a lot of information and it has all been trapped in my head for a while now.

I have been working on putting together as many set cubes as possible recently. I currently have ECL, FIN and EOE completed, and I am working on DSK, MKM, TDM, BLB, FDN, LTR, DFT, LCI and MAYBE CMR.

I started with the 4/2/1/1 ratio, but I found that I needed to add an extra of each common in order to make 48 packs, as I wanted to be able to support an 8 person sealed if needed, making my current distribution 5/2/1/1.

I am seeding packs using the WOTC articles that lay out the odds of each slot in a booster pack. Here is the ECL page for example. You can find the play booster odds under "Lorwyn Eclipsed Product Details" about 2/3 down the page.

So I start by shuffling all white commons, and then I lay down 48 of them. Repeat for UBRG and then multi-color/collorless. Then I shuffle all commons, set aside 47 of them, shuffle in 1 random SPG card, and distribute.

Then its 3 uncommons, followed by wildcard, Rare/Mythic and then another wildcard. (Wildcard odds are included in the article). This layout differs based on the set.

I have a playgroup that is absolutely giddy over this and we have been having a great time. The other day, however, a friend of mine joined in. He is a draft fanatic and does so weekly. We did many ECL drafts together as well as multiple sealed RCQs.

Afterwards I asked him "Did you feel like the experience today was close to retail packs?", to which he said "Not quite but I don't think you could really make it any closer".

Challenge accepted

So I replied "What about it would make it closer?" and he said "Increase the card pool by 10 fold".

So it has me thinking about what makes my set cube setup different from retail.

  1. You cannot get more than 1 copy of a rare or mythic
  2. The likelihood of you NOT seeing a card is low (since they pretty much all get used when making packs.)

Now I'm questioning if I need to bump up the uncommons from 2 to 4. Would this simple change increase the likelihood that you might not see a particular uncommon, or see multiple of the same one? Currently, if I make 48 packs, there will be about 12 uncommons left over. Doubling the uncommon pool would leave 212 remaining. A lot higher chance that you see 4 copies of Burdened Stoneback and zero Iron-Shield Elf.

The same for Rares/Mytics. The Borderless and Fable Frame odds are not currently a factor in my cube. So if I included those, then there is a chance that you could draft 2 copies of Chronicle of Victory. Currently, with a 1/1 for rares/mythics, there are 87 total in the pool, with 63 being used across 48 packs. That leaves 24 unused. If I double the rares, that would make it 152, and if I double the mythics it would be 174, with chances for dupes being reality.

Has anyone else attempted to replicate the retail draft experience as much as possible? What have you done to dial it in?

One thought regarding doubling the uncommons is that it would give me a playset of them all, just in case I decided to play Peasant or something in the future.

I should note that I have no quarrel with proxying the extra rares/mythics so cost is not a factor. Storage is my only real concern here. A 5/4/2/2 distribution for ECL is 979 cards, plus the 20 SPG cards. I would need a 1000 card box to store it in, with no room for tokens.
