Hi Redditors - we’re new to Florence. What are some activities to do with toddlers (3) in the this extreme heat or do you just stay in home?
I’m thinking along the lines of soft play areas, trampoline/bouncy castles etc. but I’ve not had much luck searching for them - open to anything really that gets us out of the house but into another air conditioned environment!
I’m staying out in San Domenico, on the road to Fiesole, and tonight, just after 10pm, I met a monkey on my way home.
It ran across my path, through a gate and into a garden - I got my torch and shone it on it and it turned ; 100% a monkey. I believe a capuchin!
My host says this is unheard of and isn’t aware of any neighbours who may have one as a pet.
Update: I have reported via email as we were unable to speak to each other on the phone. Them no English and me no Italian.

We are a couple and a toddler (3). We have a car so don’t need to travel from Stockholm directly.
We have a full day tomorrow to travel somewhere in the archipelago.
So far our research means we are avoiding Vaxholm as it’ll be too crowded and not a ‘true archipelago’ experience.
Utö or Sandhamn are leading the race. Any advice?
Culture, nature and maybe a swimming spot are our criteria.
EDIT: We went to Sandhamn and it was lovely. Walked to the otherside of the island and swam at the beach there. Very manageable with a stroller.
