Che montagna è questa?
Ho scattato questa foto dal prato dell'Olmo. A destra potete vedere Fiesole. Che montagna è quella che si vede in lontananza?

hi guys!
i thought i’d make this post so we can all discuss about our show, florence/firenze italy 15 july, since it’s less than two weeks away now :D
i’ll go first! i have the verde/green ticket and im flying there alone from kosovo on the day of the concert (with the hotel quite far away too cause these were my only available options to book for this trip 🥲), and this is my very first proper concert AND travel abroad, so i’m very excited but also quite nervous too 🥹 i’ll be staying for basically a day and a half in florence
so if you have any tips/tricks/advice for the concert and florence/firenze itself, let’s all discuss here and help eachother out! :D
Ciao!
Headed to Florence soon…..looking for your favorite restaurant recommendations!!
Grazie mille
Has this become normal? Ive been in Florence for 9 years and I was shocked. I kept walking, minding my business (of course), but I did double take and do a look back.
Seeing someone do Pepsi in broad daylight was not on my bingo card for 2026. Taking me back to growing up in south Florida and working in restaurants in nyc.
Hello! I’m in Florence for a week as a tourist but have ended up having to work here for a day or two. My hotel room has a desk but it’s not big enough for my setup comfortably - laptop, extended portable screen and a dedicated keyboard and mouse. Are there any places where I can rent a desk for a day somewhere vaguely central? I don’t mind trying a coffee shop but feel bad taking a table for the whole day and looks weird with the full setup. Happy to pay whatever to have something a bit more proper and not be a nuisance to a business
Im visiting Florence for the first time and was absolutely shocked to see how many study abroad students are here. Not just that they’re here, but that they essentially tear the city up and have turned it into The Jersey Shore but in a city with incredible history and culture. It feels impossible to do anything or go anywhere after 10 PM without hordes of girls in mini skirts bowling into you.
I know study abroad is big, but do locals have any say in any of it? Do city governments try to limit how many students come in because of all of this?? Has Florence always been like this or has it gotten worse?
Additionally, if anyone knows of a regular bar that’s relaxed with music that IS NOT a night club that would be so deeply appreciated.
Take a relaxing walk through the heart of Florence, Italy - one of the world's most beautiful Renaissance cities.
This 4K walking tour begins at the peaceful Rose Garden (Giardino delle Rose), offering breathtaking panoramic views over Florence before descending into the historic center. Along the way we'll visit some of the city's most iconic landmarks, including the magnificent Florence Cathedral (Duomo), Piazza della Signoria, the Uffizi Gallery, and Piazza Santa Croce.
Hi folks—we delayed booking specific tickets to sites in Florence and we’ll be there in about three weeks (July 18-22). I’d love your tips on the following:
- Accademia—will this be like Disneyland crowds on a Tuesday? Is the best plan to go before opening and try to get in line for tickets? Or to book the evening tickets that still show up on their website? Which option gives us the better shot of seeing things without being elbow to elbow with crowds?
— Pitti Palace— will this be an interesting destination for a 12-year old? He’s less interested in art than he is in the buildings themselves. He’s curious about seeing the lavish living spaces of the old rulers and weird dark stuff like torture chambers. Are these tickets we need to book in advance? Would the Medici chapels be better suited?
—Boboli Gardens picnic—we’ve heard many delis in Florence offer ready-made picnics. We’d love to do this in Boboli Gardens. Is that allowed? Do we need to plan a specific deli ahead of time, or is this the kind of thing we’ll be able to easily get when needed?
—Duomo—we want to start our first full day in Florence doing Rick Steve’s Renaissance Walk. It starts at the Duomo. We DEFINITELY want to do the climb, but we don’t necessarily need a guided tour of the place. (12-year old will only last through so many guided tours.) I am confused about various parts of the Duomo complex. Does it open at 8:25, 8:30, or 10:15? I’m also seeing things about a special crypt-side entrance? I would love anyone’s insight on understanding these options and what would be best to book in advance!
—Galileo Science Museum and Da Vinci Museums—the 12-year old is very interested in these! Do we need to book in advance, or are these things we’ll be able to walk up to and get in without a crazy line?
Thank you so much for any detailed tips and insights!!!
Heading to Florence and my plane lands at 11.00, if it is on time. My connection out of the airport is at 4 PM. What do I do in that 4 hours? I do have a largish suitcase and a carryon. This is not my first time in Florence, most of the obvious tourist things are done. What do you have in your suggestions list, considering it will be balmy 35C during those hours?
hello all!!
My mom and I will be in Florence for 6 nights this October (2-9) We don’t have any hotels booked and would like to not be in the direct city center that much- what are some other towns we could go to for a few nights? We have 2 nights in Siena on the back end, but we would love 2/3 nights in a few other places as well. We are open to anywhere around Tuscany or the coast as long as it makes sense with our Tuscany stay the last 2 days!! Thank you!!
Just arrived in Florence for a week. Any live music scene here anyone can recommend? Also any scenic drive to near by town for lunch.
Thank you x
Hi everyone!
Does anyone know of a reasonably priced shisha/hookah bar in Florence?
The cheapest one I could find in Florence is Caffè San Firenze, where shisha costs €45. There are others where the cheapest shisha is €60 (Shisha Florence Bar) or even €70 (such as Colle Bereto). I called nearly every shisha place in Florence that I could find on Google Maps, and those are the prices I was quoted.
In my experience, the cheapest shisha bars are usually the more traditional/ethnic ones (run by Indians, Pakistanis, Afghans, people from the Middle East, Turks, etc.) rather than the ones run by Italians, which tend to be much more upscale and expensive.
For comparison, where I live in Prato (close to Florence, but outside the city), there are good shisha bars with good shisha charging €12 and €15, and I also found one in Sesto Fiorentino for €20. Even in Milan there are lots of such places.
So I was wondering: does anyone know of any cheaper shisha places within Florence itself? There has to be some I’ve missed.
Thanks!
This project was born from a visit to Florence in 2019. When I came to design this MOC, the challenge was clear: how do you honour a landmark of this density and detail at a scale constrained by 5000 pieces? My desire was to capture not just the look of the Ponte Vecchio, but its character. After days of focused building, research, and no small amount of trial and error, the result is a model I am genuinely proud of: a love letter to Florence, built brick by brick.

I’m going to stay in Florence and really want to swim in a pretty blue river in a secluded location does anyone know how to get to one or find one or any tips with that? I’m willing to walk a good distance but hopefully take mainly public transportation
