Naviva Fifth Night Free

Does anyone know if FS Naviva ever historically offers a 5th night free in December? Right now they have it from May to September, but I am wondering if any other times have this rate /package?

Belmond Cap Juluca Day Passes

Can anyone suggest how the day passes work at this hotel? I'm reading various things all over Reddit and elsewhere that give conflicting info and cannot for the life of me find anything about this on the CJ website. I have stayed there before so never bothered with a day pass but for a future trip I am fully spending my time at FS Anguilla and just wanted to explore/sit on the beach at Belmond CJ for a day.

Feeling groggy and tired 48 hours after deep tissue massage

Wanted to get back to my lifting routine today (leg day is always the first session of the week for me) since having a deep tissue full body massage on Sunday. I am still feeling so tired. Is this normal? I go to my therapist once a month and they said that I was especially tight in my upper back region, and near my SI joint. With that being said, I felt since I’m still tired today it’s a safe bet to stay away from the gym and I’ll just do leg day tomorrow. Anyone ever feel extremely groggy and tired two days after intense deep tissue work? SI joint is better today, and upper back is definitely relaxing back to normal. I should also add that I was not all that diligent about rehydrating on Sunday and Monday. I think I’ll focus on rehydrating tonight and get back in the gym tomorrow but any helpful advice is appreciated. Thanks! Lately I’ve been super tense and stressed and it seems to take me a couple days post-massage to resume working out.

Best Eye Doctor?

Walked into Visionworks near the mall only to find out that they only conduct telehealth visits for eye exams. That isn’t going to work for me. Does anyone have a good eye doctor recommendation in the Annapolis area, especially one that accepts VSP insurance? Thank you!

FS Babies for All Seasons Program and similar programs

I saw a review on here recently commenting on the new-ish Babies for All Seasons program that Four Seasons has at a handful of properties. I wanted to know if anyone has any information about specific FS properties that offer this. No kids yet personally but planning to start a family next year and I would love resort recommendations that are child-friendly in fun destinations so I can continue having fun travel adventures! If anyone knows of any other hotel brands that offer similar, do tell! I read someone’s Rosewood Mandarina review about travel with a baby and it looked like they had a great trip. One&Only seems to have some great options for younger children too.

Just updating as I get more info on programs so that anyone interested can refer back to this post like I am. The following FS locations have Babies for All Seasons:

  1. FS Los Cabos
  2. FS Punta Mita
  3. FS Nevis
  4. FS Anguilla

Keeping in touch with future employer/owner doc - advice

I had a really productive conversation with a future employer, a high producing dental office that I really really want to work at. The commute, the associate job itself, everything works so well for me. I have been in touch with the owner and they are super nice but I don't want to sound too pushy. Last we spoke they said they would like for me to start in mid summer. I did not ask for clarification as to not be too pushy, but they agreed with me previously on an end of May start date. It seems like they are pushing the date where they want me to start. I don't mind this but I want to make sure I secure the position at this practice. How much more often should I keep in touch? Does anyone want to comment on what mid summer actually means because I don't quite know... is that before or after July 4?

Note: I do not have time for anyone commenting in jest, mocking my post, or not responding seriously. Please be kind. I'm trying to leave a toxic practice I currently work for where I'm working un-assisted every day.

Favorite NYC Hotels?

Wanted to hear what everyone's favorite NYC hotel is. I like Aman and stayed for a long weekend at the end of last summer, but I'm interested in hearing about other options! FSNY Midtown needs a facelift and same with Mandarin Oriental. I am most interested in hearing about hotels with significant renovations and of course great and consistent service. Not interested in Plaza, their service is meh. Not interested in any options that have tired interiors. Has anyone stayed at FS NY Downtown recently?

Travel to Caribbean

Has anyone traveled to Anguilla and St. Barth’s from the USA with a service dog and can help me navigate what the guidelines are? I saw the one form on the department of agriculture website for Anguilla but wanted to make sure I cover all my bases. Thanks!

Taking dog on vacation to the Caribbean this winter

Anyone have any guidance or a contact for getting the paperwork done for taking a dog on a 4 day weekend trip to Anguilla? He’s a retriever, not a small dog, but he travels everywhere with us and always flies in cabin- never cargo. I have Wellington Saunder’s info for the Bahamas but if anyone has a contact for Anguilla and St. Barth’s or some guidance on what’s needed, I’d appreciate it!!

FS Anguilla renovations in 2026?

I know they recently finished some renovations at the end of 2025 but I heard from three people now that they are doing renovations at the end of their summer season in 2026 that the renovations might overlap into 2027. Anyone know how long these renovations will last and to what extent the renovations are going to affect room stays? I was planning to go in Feb 2027 but not if renovations will be taking place during that time or they will be wrapping up renovations at that time. I’d rather go when it’s all finished.

Punta Mita for 5 nights in December or April

Looking to spend 5 nights in Punta Mita either right before the holidays or during the spring, and considering FS Naviva. The more travelers I talk to, the more inclined I am to stick to one resort in that location and since Naviva is a cool experience I’d like to try it once while my husband and I don’t have kids yet. Trying to decide between December or April for this trip. Anyone who has gone recently, can you comment on when you traveled and how the weather was during your stay? I’d like to avoid green season/rain season so while the prices in October are tempting, I’d much rather travel when it’s less humid and more comfortable since this resort is mainly outdoors. Also, do you get full access to FS Punta Mita if you stay at Naviva?
Anyone who has stayed at Naviva, how do you make the most of your stay there? It seems like most activities are included. Is there anything you requested to do that was not covered or included? My husband likes golf and I am sure he would like to do a fishing charter, for example.

Dentist Maternity Leave/Short Term Disability Question

How many weeks did most of you take for maternity leave (natural vs. C section)? When you went back to practice how many days a week did you practice? Any good disability insurances to think about that offer a decent short term disability plan for maternity leave? I'd also like to know the grace periods for the insurance before coverage becomes active, since I know most have a grace period. Planning to start a family in the next year or so!

This or That: Four Seasons Naviva or Four Seasons Lanai Sensei

Which of these wellness-centered FS resorts offers the best luxe experience for this brand? Planning trip to Sensei this October and considering a trip to Naviva next February. Wondering if I should switch up my plans and do Naviva first, but I think October is tail end of the wet season and I'd like to avoid the creepy crawlies that show up during humid/rainy weather.

Italy Trip Recommendations for 12 nights in April/May or September/October 2027

Planning a future trip to Italy for 12 nights, trying to decide between FS Taormina or Belmond Villa Sant’Andrea for 3-4 nights or I can split my time between the two hotels, and then planning on spending 4 nights at Villa Igiea in Palermo. I’d like to possibly add either FS Florence for 4 nights or Il San Pietro Positano for 4 nights to this itinerary for a 12 night visit. Is it worth choosing Florence or Positano? I’d like to avoid peak season so my question is, when is the better shoulder season for this trip? Spring or fall? Any help is appreciated! This trip will most likely be in 2027, so I am hoping Sicily will be recovered somewhat from Cyclone Harry damage by then! Is anyone traveling to Sicily sooner and can report back on how it looks currently?

Dental Nachos is a major narcissistic self-jerk group: change my mind

Just like the title states. If you think that group is anything other than a popularity magazine for the founder to push his sponsors to get sales, you’re delusional. Comment if you have actually gotten help from Dental Nachos- I would be surprised. I’ve seen people subscribe to expensive content like the BS “FREE CE” or the intro call with a practice sales specialist and it’s all a bunch of bogus fluff. Nobody there wants to help you for free…if they comment in the Facebook group they’re just one of the founder’s MAGA-style cronies that boost his ego and defend him (oh and some of them in that group have changed their real name because their name on their dental licenses have lawsuits tied to them), and the founder seems to text and replies to messages more than anyone I’ve ever seen, exploits his children in the ads for the company, and seems to be glued to his phone the way he responds to things. I’m most tired of the dentists pushing the “I make $$$,$$$$ per year thanks to the CEs from dental nachos”… Au contraire. I know a dentist who exclusively relied on implant CE from Dental Nachos and is now in danger of losing their license. I used to belong to the group and left a long time ago. I suggest everyone else do the same.

S2 Theory: Why Lucia did not want to attend the DiGrasso family reunion

I have a theory that Lucia did not want to attend the DiGrasso family reunion all along and that she planned to exit early on purpose because perhaps the DiGrasso women may know her personally, either through Massimo/Alessio who himself may be a DiGrasso, or perhaps Lucia is known as a local scam artist and the DiGrasso ladies would have exposed her in front of the DiGrasso men. It has been established that her last name is a reference to the book, My Brilliant Friend. Alex Daddario was reading it in S1 so Mike White clearly used a piece of that book as a detail for Lucia Greco’s character, since in My Brilliant Friend, there is a character named Lenu/Elena Greco who hooks up with a dad and his son, and she also has a best friend named Lila who her life revolves around as well, similar to Lucia’s friendship with Mia. It all seems too fishy to me that they were able to go into the center of town and find information about the DiGrasso family so quickly. Lucia definitely knows more than she told Albie, about the local DiGrasso family in Sicily.

Got this County Exec Email titled: Montgomery Update: County Council to Eliminate $692 Tax Credit for Homeowners, Listening to Educators About School Budget Cuts, and Governor Moore Visits Montgomery County to Highlight Purple Line Progress… anyone want to discuss?

Did anyone else get this email and go… why are they eliminating another incentive for homeowners in MoCo? Can someone help me understand the logic behind this?
It seems like they are making it more expensive to live in this county and yet there are some issues I’d like to be addressed here if the cost of living here is going to go up. If anyone follows @themocoshow you know what I mean. I love MoCo and I don’t want to see it go downhill, it has such a great school system and so many wonderful attributes as a county, such as access to public parks and some of the best neighborhoods to live in. Why are they trying to make it more expensive while ignoring other issues such as crime rates? I just want to discuss this, I’m not trying to argue with anyone. I love MoCo. I’m just not sure what direction we are going in at the moment. I’d like to see improvement.

Also in regard to the purple line- how does everyone feel about this project? Do you think it will improve transportation or will it bring in crime? I am not for or against it in any manner at this time since I need to do more research myself so I figured I would throw it out as a discussion since it was in a county email I subscribe to.

EDIT: I agree that a tax break should be equally shared amount homeowners and renters since the cost of rent is sometimes higher or equal to homeownership. I just was mainly annoyed that they are taking away an incentive while simultaneously making things more expensive for all. Affordability is definitely a challenge lately, with rising gas prices and other issues.

Frustrated with lack of pay

I’m seeing dentists in my area making $350K or $250K via Dental Nachos and I’m struggling at an office that can’t keep a stable schedule barely making $675 paid per diem 4 days a week, sometimes 3 days. No percent of collections, just $675 flat which is what I’m owed after tax for a $800 per diem day. Is this fair? I’ve been struggling to find another job. So many offices in my area are not hiring and the bad ones are the only ones hiring. I am awaiting another opportunity that’s supposed to start soon, but it’s been a grueling year. I barely make ends meet and have nothing to show for the degree I worked so hard for and I’m constantly given hygiene at this current office daily because they can’t find an assistant to help with more advanced treatment. The only days this office has a full staff are two Saturdays a month and while it’s a relief to have that on a Saturday I wish I just had something stable during the week that offered me a better way to make a living. I’m struggling. It’s hard. It’s making me want to quit the profession. I had an offer recently to take over this practice when my family who runs it is ready to retire, but they said they will walk when it’s time to hand it over. I have posted about this before but wanted to give more information. I’m in a high production area saturated with lots of dentists and opportunities but this office is severely behind in many ways, always under-staffed, and a constant headache. I never have a dedicated assistant. It’s frustrating. I am at wits ends. I’ve applied to many places and I was promised a new opportunity this summer but the weeks leading up to that are just dragging. I want to leave this practice so badly but I feel obligated to family that are constantly abusing my kindness in even staying here. This office has 2 specialists that only come 1-2 times a month each. It’s not doing well! Support and advice encouraged, negativity not welcome.

Looking for the best Carmel by the Sea hotel to book and pair with Post Ranch Inn for a 4-5 night weekend. Recommendations on how to split time between properties is appreciated too. I was thinking 2-3 nights max at Post Ranch and then 2 nights in downtown Carmel by the Sea. The problem is there does not seem to be many hotel options that work alongside most TA booking engines in downtown Carmel by the Sea. I already have crossed L'Auberge Carmel off my list because they don't have air conditioning and seem to be inconsistent. Should I just look for an AirBnB in Carmel by the Sea? I was also looking at La Playa Hotel in downtown Carmel by the Sea.
