Wonder if this is just me or a new policy. I logged in today ( I am a digital only subscriber-because they could not figure out how to reliable deliver a print edition). But today I go to read an article and I get blocked saying it is only for PRINT subscribers and offereing me to subscribe for $6.99/week.
Anyone else seeing this?
Hi,
we’re four guys, and we’ve put together Westminster’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota. The concept is simple: you see two places side by side (for example Famille vs. Kachina Southwestern Grill), you choose the place you’d rather go to, and the ranking updates instantly. The more people vote, the more accurate the list gets over time. There are still a few duplicates here and there, but I’m continuously cleaning up the data.
Here’s the iPhone version, with categories that actually fit Westminster’s food scene:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota-restaurant-ratings/id6744969212
And here’s the Android version (finally live):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app
P.S. I’m not from Westminster (I live in Gothenburg). I’m not collecting data, not selling anything, and the app does not use AI-generated content. I’m posting in a few different subreddits because we now support more regions, and I genuinely want honest feedback from people who actually know the area.
My family just moved to Annapolis, and it seems many of the properties we like are managed by APS, who state they have breed restrictions on all of their properties. Has anyone had any experience or knowledge of any flexibility on this? TIA
Hey I’m stopping in Annapolis from DC for a few hours and later taking the BWI Amtrak to philly. What’s the best way to store my carry on so I can walk around and check out Annapolis for a bit?
Hi! I need recommendations for a good gastroenterologist in the area. Has anyone here had any positive experiences with someone local that they trust? Thanks!
Due to heat. Fireworks may be delayed as well.
Relocating to the area soon and Reddit research on the Severna Park made me aware of the book Life Under Pressure which examined a youth suicide cluster at SPHS.
I‘ve been drawn to the same things described by the authors- great schools, active and engaged neighborhood, lots of other families. But the portrait of the community I’m reading isn’t one where I think my family would thrive. can I get some honest takes on the culture and the kinds of people for whom SP is or is not a good fit?
I was a 9 year old kid living on PGS. Mom working for Historic Annapolis got me a job working at the Shiplap House in the herb garden out back. I worked many historic properties mostly pulling weeds. I was happy getting a dollar an hour.
On 7/4/1976 my gig was watching the phones at the Paca House while the festivities were going on just outside. I was given 2 bottles of champagne and left to myself.
The whole town was all red, white, and blue and the Water Witch was still green. Flags were everywhere. It was a great time to be there.
I didn’t get many calls so I had plenty of time to try that champagne. Needless to say, I got a bit drunk. Even riding my bike a few yards down the road was a significant challenge. My mother wasn’t too happy but gave me a pass. Times were different
I hope you all are having a fantastic 4th. Happy Independence Day!
I am about to list my home in Arnold for rent, and am looking for a realtor to help with the process. I am aware I can do it on my own, but its my first time renting and I'd like some professional help this go around.
Any recommendations for realtors?
Does anyone have any spare Animax ointment? My dog has a yeast ear infection and we ran out, our vet is closed for July 4th. All help appreciated thank you!
Totally blocked. People are going across the grass to get out. No idea what happened, fire truck blocked any view.
Hello! I'm interested in creating a hypothetical light rail system designed for the Annapolis area. Does anybody have any ideas on where the stops should be? It could be neighborhoods, town centers, Streets, etc.
Public service announcement for anyone ordering food around Annapolis: please look closely at where your delivery is actually coming from before you spend your money. There is a new place called Wonder on Riva Rd and it's not what you want.
It's a corporate ghost kitchen pushing a lineup of celebrity chef and branded concepts out of a virtual food hall location. It looks like you’re ordering from lots of different restaurants, especially on GrubHub (wonder owns GH). In reality they microwave meals in the back and put on the finishing touches. All of the food was pre-prepared at a central location.
Atlas is bad enough but this is a whole new level of corporate dining. I wonder how long it will be around?
Edit: for example Streetbird by Marcus Samuelsson. The address will show as 2496 Riva Rd, Suite 450
Is this a flock camera? Been seeing a lot of chatter about them on tiktok and stuff, and drove past this one by Homestead Gardens today...seems like an invasion of privacy.
Just heard a rumor that at Boatyard, when you order online the tip goes straight to Atlas and not the employees. Is this true at other Atlas restaurants? Kinda BS that Atlas is taking tips from employees
My girlfriend has a 6 month old dachshund. Shes visiting from out of town and I’m looking for some dog-friendly bars and restaurants (outside or inside) where we can go. It doesn’t do super-well being left alone (and I don’t know how it would do in an unfamiliar apartment alone), but I’d really like to show her how fun and beautiful Annapolis can be. We really liked Quiet Waters Park, but I’d love to show her a good time for lunch/dinner/drinks.
Any recs for downtown Annapolis and Eastport?
