Question for those of you who have children and were once married, how did your spouse handle the divorce and how did the state decide who has primary custody?

In my experience, she doesn't tunnel as much rage towards our kids as I get to enjoy but it does exist. At this point my young teenaged kiddos give her sass right back and I intervene where I act something like a stabilizing buffer.

I also have a huge amount of distrust of her family and am not comfortable with my kids being around them without at minimum her being present at all times.

The idea of her leaning on them for help because we're separated haunts me.
