I am planning to take admission to BTech in Computer Engineering this year. Please suggest which laptop I should buy.

I am currently considering the MacBook Air M5 with 24 GB RAM. Since I am personally interested in AI and Machine Learning, I would also like to know whether it would be a good choice for research and development in these areas.

Also, are there any additional costs for installing software or purchasing subscriptions after buying a MacBook? If anyone has purchased a MacBook, please share your experience and the approximate extra costs involved.

If you think a MacBook is not the right choice for my requirements, please suggest a suitable Windows laptop also.
