How many refinements did you need?
I have 2 more weeks to go of my 6 week refinements, I’m doubting I’ll be perfectly happy with my bottom teeth by that time, how many refinements did it take you to get the results you wanted?
Never restored anything in my life…decided to dig out and restore this 1960s singer and cabinet that was gifted to me by my great grandmother over 20 years ago.
This machine has been all but idle in the past 2 decades I’ve owned it, never once maintained it or hardly used it. Decided I wanted to learn to tailor my own clothes and knew this beast would be better than anything on the market today, so I lugged her out of the stale attic she’s called home the last 6 years and decided to do my best! It’s not perfect but I think it’s darn good! She’s running like a top, all original parts and accessories!
First tomatoes of the year! A small mortgage lifter and purple calabash
Saved my tomato from its death bed!
Poor thing was flourishing and then all of a sudden it looked like the first picture found out that the soil in the pot was compacted and not drying out enough remove the mulch, gently aerated the soil, sprayed with neem in case of pest damage and installed a shade cloth. Let the pot dry out for a few days. Poor thing was having to go with it, slowly started integrating gentle watering back in and now she is on the mend!
I think I’m out of the woods!
My poor calabash had a go of it! Aerated it’s compacted pot, let it dry, spayed neem to get rid of mites/aphids/possible thrips, set up some shade and have her a drink after a few days and she’s showing major signs of recovery!!! So happy my CPR Is working!
I really need to get better about before and after photos - major run refresh
Tilled, dug out and relocated ~6 wheelbarrows worth of dirt/bedding, began relaying the bricks for predator proofing and called it after 6 hours in 94 degree heat. Pick it back up tomorrow. I’m beat but ready to have it done!
My poor calabash was in compacted soggy soil, I did my best aerate the soil yesterday but poor baby is in shock and the heat is killer today, I’m trying!
My garden just showing out this year!
Main bed closed to solarize, regardless everything is flourishing! I am so very pleased! It’s also my first year using my OWN compost and the plants are so green and happy! Just had to do a little show and tell!
Deep clean of the coop and one section of the run today…I’m beat.
Original plan complete, trays 1-14! refinements ordered
Original plan was only 14 trays, just got my attachments off and rescanned this past week and waiting to the next set to arrive. Still amazed at the progress in just about 4 months time! Will need some shaping when it’s all said and done too.
Before and after, bed solarization and some additions
Broke my back this weekend but got many things done, loving the result! Compost used is homemade from our chickens and the plants are THRIVING!
