Our Experience With Worth Decor Events / By Carolina Caballero

We hired Worth Decor by Carolina to decorate three events over our two-day wedding weekend in August 2026. Based on our experience, we would NOT recommend them.

I want to be fair and acknowledge that some of the decor they completed was beautiful. Unfortunately, the issues that occurred, combined with how the company handled our concerns afterward, completely overshadowed the portions that went well.

We initially contacted Worth Decor in summer 2025 after they were recommended to us by a mutual contact. Our first in-person meeting with Carolina was in Toronto and we went through our vision for all three events in detail. She drew out how the backdrops, stages, tables, centrepieces and other decor elements would be set up and we approved. We ultimately signed one contract covering both wedding days, broken into 2 prices: Day 1 and Day 2.

Before the wedding, we also met with Carolina's executive administrator, Amika Khan, and discussed the required setup times for all three events.

Our first ceremony was at the lakeside gazebo at Royal Ambassador on Day 1.

The Worth Decor team was still decorating when guests began arriving, and the completed gazebo did not fully match the agreed design. When we raised this issue afterward, Worth Decor initially told us the missing decor was because of rain and because the gazebo was still wet.

We disputed that explanation because there had been no rain that morning, the area was NOT wet, and we have photographs documenting the conditions. After we challenged that explanation, it later changed to unspecified “circumstances during setup” that supposedly required adjustments.

Day 2 is when we had a big issue. Our second ceremony was at Metropolitan United Church in downtown Toronto.

The church only allowed us a limited setup window before the ceremony. Around 30 minutes into that window, our day-of-coordinator was repeatedly trying to contact the decorator and could not reach them.

Approximately 10 minutes before the ceremony was scheduled to begin, the decorator finally answered. Our coordinator asked where they were because the ceremony was about to start. Their response was essentially: “What do you mean? We just finished decorating the church.”

Except they had decorated the WRONG church.

Imagine finding this out just minutes before walking down the aisle.

There was no opportunity to fix the mistake or redo this huge moment in our lives.

Mistakes can happen at weddings. A missing flower or a small difference from a rendering is one thing.

Decorating an entirely different church and leaving the actual ceremony with ZERO decor is on a completely different level.

Immediately following the ceremony, while my wife and I were taking photos, our coordinator told me Worth Decor was also running behind at the reception venue. I had to step away from taking photos with my wife immediately after getting married to call Carolina. I first asked her what happened with the church, she said “I don’t know what to tell you, we’re really sorry, there’s no excuse.” I said “Okay so I am getting a refund for this right?” She said “Yes we’ll refund you $500 because you got our ‘Winter promotion package’ that has a $1,000 package discount”. Just a reminder, we were quoted in Summer 2025 and our wedding was in August 2026 (the price never changed within that time). Not sure how we got their “Winter Promo”, and why that was never mentioned to us or included on the contract we signed. I responded saying “we’ll talk about this later…”

When we eventually arrived at the reception and did our room reveal, we agreed that the decor itself looked great.

However, we noticed that some of the white acrylic table numbers with black lettering that we had requested were missing and had been replaced with stainless-steel table numbers from the venue, which were noticeably different and harder to read. At that point, we chose not to make an issue of it during the reception because we simply wanted to enjoy the evening.

What made the situation even more disappointing was how Carolina & Amika dealt with the situation afterwards.

After the wedding, I emailed Carolina directly to explain that although much of the completed decor was beautiful, the failures were significant and we believed a partial refund was appropriate. From that point forward, most of the communication was handled by Amika rather than Carolina.

Worth Decor later stated in writing that their regular standalone price for the church decor would have been $1,500, but claimed that because our reception and church were sold as a package, they internally valued the church portion at only $500. At no point during our booking process was it explained to us that the church decor was effectively valued at only $500, nor were we told that a $1,000 package discount was specifically being allocated against the church portion of the package. We strongly disagreed that $500 is a proportionate value for the church decor and for introducing that allocation after the service was completely missed. For reference, we spent over $11,000 on decor.

We gave Worth Decor multiple opportunities to resolve this privately before sharing our experience publicly.

Based on our experience, we CANNOT recommend Worth Decor Events by Carolina Caballero and would not use or refer this company in the future.
