Remedies for potential deodorant burn, and future suggestions.

28M, active lifestyle, clean diet, boring desk job.

I have started to get deodorant burn after the last 4 brands of deodorants I’ve tried. It can take 3-4 weeks or even 4-6 months to onset, but then stays until I go 7-30 days without deodorant and consistency clean the area. It burns and generally looks inflamed by the end of the day.

There is currently Neosporin on it, as I’ve found that to help. Maybe it’s just a placebo or even hurting me - who knows. I don’t.

Brands I’ve tried:
- Native (2025-2026), fewest rashes but the most painful and stubborn ones. Had really good luck initially.
- Schmidt (2024), quick onset large rash size, moved on quickly.
- Harry’s (2023), mild rashes but more frequent, kept it as a backup for 2-3 day trips or something in a gym bag etc.
- Old Spice (2022), ditched quick

Any suggestions on a remedy and future product that would prevent this? Could it be the sodium bicarbonate I keep reading about? Do I need to amputate? Do my parents still love me? Why does my dog insist on jumping on the bed to only jump off the bed a short time later?

Thank you for the help.

Almost there.

The evolution of learning shit as a new homeowner to a house riddled with problems. Last week the AC Capacitor took a shit. Put a multimeter on it and read zero’s. Replaced it. Cold air at last.

Decided to take a peak with a flashlight into the unit and saw the carpet that had formed on the side. Fast forward to today and I took the cover off, and while trying to prop up the fan it took a small tipover and the blade went into it. Thankfully (to this groups help) I noticed that it did not make any hissing sounds or anything, inspecting the copper portion and it looked good. Got a fan comb for car radiators and it straightened out fine.

Proceeded with cleaning and then upon reassembly I could not get the last panel to line up for the life of me. Had a neighbor try to come help and we made some headway but no dice.

So this is where it remains. Slightly crooked and missing a few screws on the back. But it’s 95° today and I have to get the AC back on for the family for the time being. I’ll retry tonight or tomorrow when it’s a bit cooler.

Suggestions? Take it apart and try again? Fighting the alignment on it was a royal pain in the ass.

Thank you so much to the people willing to help in this group. It truly means a lot. I’m mechanically inclined when it comes to vehicles but home ownership is another ballgame.
