Gyms in Paris with day passes?

I live in Ireland but I often stay in Paris for a week or so every 2 months. I'd only want to use a gym in Paris around 15 days a year, so it's not worth subcribing for a long period. Are there any gyms where I can pay just €10 or €15 for a day, without a contract? An AI suggests Basic-Fit but I can't find any mention of day passes on their website.

Edit: I see that both Basic-Fit and easyGym have carnet-type offers for just €10 a visit. Anyone with experience of these gyms? Are they crowded? Is their equipment good? Any other information?

These cheap, portable air conditioners: do they work?

Will be in Paris soon, where there's a heatwave, and we'll be staying in a studio apartment with no a/c.

I know nothing about air conditioners (am from Ireland where such things are not needed). I'm aware of fixed air conditioning units that one vents to the outside via a hole in the wall/window.

However, a fixed unit won't be possible in our case, so in searching for solutions I came across portable a/c units such as this (just a random one on Amazon). But do they actually work? I don't really get the physics of these – like, how do they actually dispose of heat? A tray full of hot water such as in a clothes dryer? I've read some scathing reviews of various such units where people say they're not much better than a fan.
