Considering moving to Chauvet Beta for the plugin system (Dictionary + Digest workflow) – Stability & Roadmap questions

Hi everyone!

I've been following the development of the new plugin system closely, and I'm very tempted to jump into the Chauvet Beta. My primary use case is heavy reading across multiple languages (English, Italian, and Spanish) combined with the Digest feature. The new dictionary plugin looks like an absolute game-changer for my workflow.

Before I take the plunge, I wanted to ask the community a few things:

  1. Stability: How stable is this current beta build for daily use? Specifically, my library consists of around a hundred books and documents. Would handling a library of this size cause any noticeable performance issues, crashes, or data loss with the current plugin implementation?
  2. Roadmap: Does anyone know if there is a new beta release planned soon that might fix some of the current rough edges (like multi-dictionary management or toggles)?

I'd love to hear your experiences if you are already using it daily. Thanks in advance!

Am I crazy, or does Amazon Music Unlimited sound noticeably worse than Qobuz/Deezer (and even Spotify)

Hi everyone,

I just subscribed to Amazon Music Unlimited, but I’m finding the sound quality to be a massive letdown compared to the Hi-Res audio on Qobuz or Deezer. The difference is night and day.

I’m streaming from my WiiM Plus, which is properly configured using the optical output (Toslink) into my setup, so the hardware chain shouldn't be the issue. Yet, it just doesn't convince me.

To make matters worse, when I test standard quality tracks (lossy/MP3), Spotify and YouTube Music actually sound way better to my ears than Amazon's "excellent" standard quality.

I'm pretty sure my mind isn't playing tricks on me. Has anyone else noticed this? Does Amazon Music do some weird resampling or processing over the WiiM integration, or is their library's mastering just inferior?

Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

A native Markdown / Obsidian Vault Reader plugin could be a killer feature for Supernote

One of my biggest use cases for an e-ink device is not just writing notes, but reviewing and studying knowledge I've already accumulated over time.

Right now, I sideload Obsidian on my Supernote, but honestly the experience is pretty rough:

slow UI

heavy scrolling

non e-ink-friendly interactions

too many desktop-oriented features

battery/performance overhea

And the thing is… I don't actually need the full Obsidian experience on Supernote. What I really want is something much simpler and more aligned with e-ink strengths:

read Markdown notes comfortably

browse an Obsidian vault

follow [[wikilinks]]

search notes quickly

maybe see simple backlinks/tags

open attached PDFs

review knowledge in distraction-free mode

So instead of trying to make the full Android Obsidian app run well through sideloading, maybe the new plugin system opens the door to something better: a lightweight native Markdown / vault reader plugin built specifically for Supernote.

Basically an “Obsidian-lite” optimized for reading and review rather than heavy editing. I feel this would fit the philosophy of Supernote much better than running full desktop-style apps on e-ink hardware.

Curious if other people would use something like this, and whether the current plugin APIs would make it feasible.
