Alright folks, thanks to all the comments in my last post I was able to properly identify what wires went where and connect them to the VGA port I got online. However, now I have a whole other concern! This is what started happening when I plugged it in and tried testing things, and you can hear in the video there’s a constant sizzling sound that keeps happening that’s super concerning to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. I attempted switching the H and V sync wires because I heard getting them wrong sometimes results in this kind of image, but I didnt get any image at all when doing that, so I think I got it right the first time

So, recently I got a CRT from a lady who had chopped off the vga cable. I was excited to try and fix it because it seems like a decently simple fix, and I wanted to try using this solderless VGA port I found online. After doing some research and exposing the cables I realized I don’t really have any idea how to know which of these wires connects to which pins on the solderless port. How exactly do I decipher this and find out what goes where?? I’ll post an update if I can get it working tonight!!

I can’t figure out what’s going on with this Mitsubishi Diamond Scan 90E. These are the sounds it makes on startup, kinda sounds like a switch is being flicked after a moment and i’m concerned that means something is being stopped from working? The electron tube is glowing (end of vid) and the monitor was working when I first got it, but now no dice. I resoldered the joints near the flyback and nearby components to make sure there wasn’t any cold joints but that didn’t work, I’m kinda at a loss because I’m brand new to this!
