after only losing my Tentacruel to Bertha's Hippowdon. i had mix feelings knowing if i was going to pull this off in the end.

Cynthia's Togekiss was definitely the biggest problem, it took a combine effort for my team to kill (which lead to them losing too much health for later mons)

Mangnezone took out Milotic with a magnet boosted thunderbolt.

Magnezone was then sacrifice to Garchomp for a safe switch for Weavile. who outspeed and oneshot with a ice punch.

Lucario was sent in and in my hubris i didn't swords dance (i had a focus sash on Weavile), i hit brick break thinking it would kill (it didn't).

like in a greek tragedy itself, Cynthia full restored. i clicked brick break again when I could've swords dance.

e speed killed Weavile.

my Togekiss took out Lucario but with only a sliver of hp remaining.

Cynthia's last mon, Roserade, outsped and killed Togekiss and eventually my Gliscor and Gastordon.

i've learned a lot during this attempt, most of my deaths were entirely my fault. i could've paid attention more, i could've strategize more, i could've did better.

but, this only means one thing...

Iron Island Steelix encounter. a crit Extrasensory did this lol

Crasher Wake was a lot more difficult to prepare for then I expected.

stalling out the Gyarados with Umbreon was risky, with confuse rays and toxic to drain it and switching in my Torterra to curse while the toxic finished it off gave me enough time to set up a few curses to withstand Wake's Floatzel ice fang and kill.

my mistake was staying in with Torterra when he sent in Quagsire as his Water Pulse did enough damage for Wood Hammer recoil to kill my Torterra.

i do have quite a few ground types left in the box, but Torterra was a such heavy lifter throughout the run. RIP.

Machoke was actually useless though.

forgot to post this after my first Platinum attempt

after attempt 1 ended with Maylene's Lucario sweeping my team with a crit + 1 Metal Claw.

attempt 2 started promising with a neutral Turtwig and defensive nature Bidoof before getting stranger with a rivalry Shinx, but promising again with a adamant Magikarp. then disappointment when my Psyduck encounter prevented me from getting a Gible.

lost my Shinx from a Kricketot bide and Gyarados to a night slash crit from Jupiter's Skuntank.

captivate Umbreon still walls Fantina's Mismagius before sweeping her team with my + attack nature Crobat.

i also forgot Graveler's Sturdy prevents Horn Drill from killing. i'm so surprised i have only one death so far lol

edit: onto attempt 2 i guess lmao

captivate Umbreon is still goated against Fantina even in vanilla Platinum.
