Dog sitter

Hello!

Can anyone recommend a dog sitter/options in the Hobart area?

We have a lil’ goose (poodle x) who can be a bit anxious around other dogs. Happy to have someone stay at our place in Sandy Bay.

We usually have friends stay but that won’t be an option this time so I’m feeling a little nervous to leave him with someone who hasn’t stayed before and am looking for some trusted recommendations.

Thank you ☺️

Improving acoustics apartment

We bought a ground floor unit in a 1960’s double brick build apartment block.

We’re getting a lot of noise transfer through a shared wall; our bedrooms share a wall with our neighbours living room and kitchen. Anything touching the wall creates a banging on our side. For example, preparing food on their kitchen bench. We can also hear voices from next door and upstairs.

Another issue is the shared hallway that windows open onto is an open outdoor space but has a concrete floor, brick half wall and concrete ceiling (upstairs neighbours balcony) which is creating an echo chamber. Even with our windows and doors closed if the neighbours kitchen window is open we can very clearly hear everything.

This isn’t necessarily a case of noisy neighbours, they’re just doing normal life stuff although if they have people over obviously this is a lot worse.

We are trying to manage what we can from inside our unit. So far I have bought acoustic caulk to put under the skirting boards and any obvious gaps around the windows, we have honeycomb blinds, weather strips under doors and I am looking at the faux double glazing with 6mm acrylic sheets for the windows but I am wanting to get some professional advice to take to our AGM meeting.

I have no idea what trades to contact as it’s retrofit and there are both internal and external issues. Does anyone know if there’s someone who could do an overall assessment? Or any advice/pointers?

I am wondering whether insulating the cavity in the brick of the shared wall is an option but I am not sure if there are any options for the ceiling/upstairs neighbours floor. We are willing to cover the cost for our neighbours if there are modifications that can be made in their units. I’m just wanting some solutions/info to chat about as it’s really impacting our sleep (even with a Bluetooth sleep mask).

I know it’s part and parcel of apartment living and I have lived in apartments most of my life but this is particularly bad.
