We relocated in 2015 and I was a low earner for a number of years. Career progressed significantly the past 4-5 years. I’ve been aggressively trying to catch up but the prospect of two more is really concerning me, in a HCOL. Am I cooked?
I’ve calculated net worth at around 600k, only real debt is a $440k mortgage at 5.5%. Household income ~$265k.
It’s been a minute since I redeemed a ticket code, am I doing something wrong?
Leo is basically the villain of the show. He's a rich, corporate Democrat playing centrist, not a principled moderate. Leo spends half the show reining Bartlet in whenever the President wants to actually fight for something progressive, trade, gun control messaging, or on how hard to push Congress. He frames it as "pragmatism," but it's really just risk-aversion dressed up as strategy. He's the guy in every room telling the most idealistic person there to sit down and be quiet.
The Shareef assassination is the big one. Leo and Fitzwallace cook up a plan to kill Abdul Shareef specifically so the U.S. can dodge the legal and diplomatic fallout of an actual extrajudicial killing. They loop in the President for cover but the plan is Leo's baby. It's textbook assassination of a foreign official with zero due process, and the show barely holds him accountable for it.
He actively works against Bartlet's Middle East peace push. Every time the administration tries to get ambitious on brokering peace, Leo's instinct is caution, delay, and protecting domestic political capital.
And he treats CJ HORRIBLY. There are multiple moments where CJ is right, the assassination, the North Korean defector, coal, about press strategy, about optics, about how something will land and Leo talks over her or shuts her down anyway, only to find out later she had the read correct the whole time. He also allows multiple people to belittle her and discount her opinions.
Bring on the downvotes but FUCK Leo McGarry.

I am (was) a director at a financial services company since 2021. On Monday at 3:00pm I was invited to a meeting where I was terminated without notice. I was told I was being offered 6 weeks of severance and would be hearing from HR. I was supposed to start paternity leave this week.
I have not heard anything since. Massachusetts Wage Act appears very clear that I should have received final pay on Monday. How long should I wait before taking next steps and what should those be?
Pretty sure I know but want to make sure. Filter wants air flow to go a certain direction. Does it even matter?
Trying to find out more about this Lane Cedar Hope Chest I was gifted. I found that the serial number may indicate it was built April 1978, but ChatGPT said based on this photo it may have been built earlier. The locking mechanism has been removed so I am assuming it was the model with the auto locking feature. Thanks in advance for any insights or valuations.
