The PvP mode is currently bugged: here's how to earn your belts

I'm making this post because I've seen a lot of players talking about it.

The PvP mode available today is supposed to be a 2v2, but a bug is preventing teams from being formed correctly. When you queue for a match, you may end up in situations such as 1v1v1v1 or 1v1v2, even though the game was designed exclusively for 2v2 matches. This inevitably causes disconnections.

Here's what's happening:

  • If a player who is alone gets eliminated, they cannot respawn on a teammate because they don't have one. Result: disconnection.
  • If nobody gets eliminated while the match does not follow the 2v2 format (for example, with three or four teams), the game considers the situation invalid and will also disconnect you.

How to earn belts despite the bug

To avoid being disconnected, you must:

  1. Be in a team of two players.
  2. Face another team of two players.

In short, the match must be a true 2v2. If it isn't, the game will disconnect you.

I hope this explanation helps. Unfortunately, I don't think this bug will be fixed before the event ends, since the mode is available for less than 24 hours.

My Opinion on Neo mo.co

Sorry in advance if this post is a bit long. A summary is available in the comments.

The most active players had been waiting for this update for a long time. Its arrival was finally announced on May 19th, after several rumors had circulated a few days earlier. Neo mo.co was released on May 21st, 2026, and reactions came flooding in immediately. However, many of the early opinions were rushed and not very constructive.

Now that two weeks have passed, we have enough experience with the update to properly evaluate it. Here is my opinion, along with the aspects that I believe still need improvement.

Positive Changes

Better Gameplay Clarity

The game is much easier to read than before. Fighting bosses feels more satisfying now, especially because the red outlines around boss attacks have been removed. In my opinion, those outlines negatively impacted the gameplay experience.

A Better Organized Shop

The shop is clearer and skins are showcased much better. Being able to preview them directly on your character before purchasing is a great improvement.

A More Dynamic Progression System

The new progression system is faster and more engaging. It gives players a stronger incentive to keep playing. However, once you reach higher levels (I'm currently level 73), progression becomes fairly slow again, and the rewards often don't feel worth the effort required.

Great Weapon Skins

Overall, the new weapon skins look fantastic and are very well designed.

The Heart System

The Heart system provides a constant source of content, which is great. However, it quickly becomes repetitive and relies too heavily on RNG. I'm currently level 73 and still haven't obtained a single Mega-Charged Heart, while some players at lower levels already have several of them.

Areas That Need Improvement

Rifts Need More Difficulty and Variety

At the moment, Rifts are relatively easy, and players tend to use the same weapons over and over again.

To address this, I would suggest a system that makes better use of weapon roles.

In 3-player Rifts, each player could be required to use a weapon from a different category. This would encourage more varied team compositions and make Rifts feel more strategic.

For future 10-player Rifts, which have not been released yet, players could still choose any weapon they want in order to preserve more freedom when creating team compositions.

Another possibility would be to introduce additional mechanics, such as:

  • Doors that only open after all enemies in an area have been defeated.
  • Secondary objectives before reaching the boss.
  • Random events that change how the run plays out.

Healing Weapons Feel Unnecessary

Currently, the only weapon dedicated entirely to healing feels almost useless.

Enemies are generally easy to dodge, especially in Rifts where you sometimes only have to fight a single boss. Meanwhile, the Gloves deal high damage while also providing significant healing.

For that reason, I believe the Gloves' healing capabilities should be slightly reduced so that support-focused weapons can have a meaningful role again.

Lack of Long-Term Content

Right now, mo.co's content loop mostly consists of:

  • Completing quests in the new Expedition map.
  • Trying a new game mode or PvP mode.
  • Doing the daily Rift.
  • Improving your times in weekly Rifts.
  • Completing the seasonal Dojos.

The problem is that most players finish the Dojos within the first week. Many then use the intermediate Gloves Dojo to farm experience and Hearts efficiently.

Although experience is now almost unlimited, I personally earn less XP per day than I did before, despite spending the same amount of time playing.

Why?

Because OCs and MCs now give significantly less experience. On top of that, they're harder to defeat because there are fewer players on each map. When someone starts an OC or MC in a group, it's often impossible to join them in time.

I believe the game should:

  • Increase the number of players allowed on a map again.
  • Improve the XP rewards from OCs and MCs.

The Bot Problem

Since the first week of Neo mo.co, I've noticed a significant increase in the number of bots, both in open-world maps and in Rifts.

Farming alongside bots is much less enjoyable than playing with real players. In some Rifts, winning becomes nearly impossible because bots repeatedly die without contributing meaningfully to the team.

Bring Back Weekend Events

I would also like to see the return of special weekend events.

They helped break up the routine and gave players another reason to log in regularly. Right now, once the main activities are completed, there isn't always much left to do. Temporary events with unique challenges and rewards would add much more variety to the game.

Conclusion

Despite the criticisms mentioned above, I believe Neo mo.co has brought several important improvements to the game. Overall, the update is a step in the right direction, but some aspects still need adjustments to improve the long-term experience.

There are probably many other important points that I haven't covered here. That's why I'll likely make another post in the coming months to discuss new issues and future improvements.

Of course, everything written in this post is just my personal opinion.

I'd also love to hear your thoughts in the comments. Which points do you agree or disagree with, and what improvements would you like to see added to Neo mo.co?
