When to start meds?

After getting deep into prediabetes zone and making many changes (follow all advice listed in this forum, loose weight ( i did not have that much to loose to get to ideal), watch carb, eat in the right order, (continue ) exercising (was already doing), try some supplements...) and your a1c comes down, but still prediabetes (now lower end of range) at what point do others here start meds? And how aggressive? And is that then a life scentence? Or does the med ever cure anyone? (From what i have read about glp1 - they work while you take them, bu don't fix your body)?

I never fit the standard profile of someone getting prediabetes (very active, never overweight other than pregnancy, decent diet, but not low carb), yet still got it. Only risk factor was family history

Cgm average glucose vs cgm estimate a1c vs lab a1c

So, the American Duabetes organization says A1C 5.7 (cutoff start prediabetes) would be 117 glucose average..

Now, my Cgm had made me think I am doing great, mid to upper 90 average (depending on interval). I thought i was in the clear. ...Now, the cgm app (clarity) estmated 5.6 as my A1C. Which would map to glucose of 114. Actual Lab A1C test was even higher. I wore the cgm almost continuously for 3 month preceedings the lab test. There were no compression lows. ( first cgm day readings can look szrange sometimes )

So, is the glucose to A1C mapping of the American diabetes association off/outdated? It seems that the maker of the cgm believe so since their algorithm translates a given glucose average into something much higher than than the A1C the American Diabetes organization.

Anyone willing to comment on what their experience is. ( average glucose, A1C estimate, A1C lab test).

What values are you targeting day to day as your fasting glucose and average?
