Is Miles + Cash always a bad strategy? (Counterexample of CX flight in post)

Is Miles + Cash always a bad strategy? (Counterexample of CX flight in post)

I have around 14k CX miles and have no use of these points for a long while. I was just curious to check what is the cash value of these points if I book a flight. I added some sample return dates from YVR to DEL and the cash price was 2137 CAD. However, when I apply my 14k CX miles, the price is now 1129 CAD + 14k miles ( A whopping 1k CAD discount). I think this is an excellent counterexample of using these points if not for yourself, then booking for a family member/friend

Give me your recommendations of mediocre mystery/thriller movies (Post 2000s)

I have seen all the good thriller/mystery movies so I am on a binge of the mediocre/bad mystery movies post 2000s. The recent ones I have seen and enjoyed are

  • Saaya - Quite good, songs are great. John Abraham shows his range here

  • Vaada - Arjun Rampal steals the show. Zayed khan is decent. Ending is a letdown. Overall, moderately enjoyable

  • Krishna Cottage - This was overall a letdown but enjoyable in phases.

I plan to watch Yakeen and *Deewangee next. What other am I missing out on?

I am YVR based and am interested in travelling to Europe next year and I am not interested in J class seats as it is too expensive for me and I want to fly together with my wife in PE. As compared to other carries, I see SEA to LHR has excellent availability in PE at 16.5k VA points. to East coast is even better at 10.5k points Also, the availability from BLR to LHR is excellent at around the same points. Yeah the fees are higher but the amazing availability makes it so easy to plan on certain dates instead of grabbing dates as soon as they open for certain routes i.e. West coast to tokyo at 55k.

Unfortunately, for a. canadian, earning VA points is next to impossible so I Was thinking of converting my Marriott points to this. I also have US credit history so have to think about applying for a US card to transfer these points.

I got my mortgage from RFA bank via a broker in June 2024 and it had a term about "not allowed to be rented" rule. I am in Abbotsford and might have plans to move to Richmond later on a rental and want to rent out my condo. I will of course won't do it without their approval. But I wonder why they have this clause and how can I approach them about my situation (My wife is on track to get a job later this year which will be on-site in Vancouver while mine is remote).
