How I lost 60lbs and kept it off

Former overweight people, who have kept the weight off, what did you do? I’m 5’5 female and I used to be 185lbs, about 6 years ago. I lost 60lbs in a year and I’ve maintained my weight of 125lbs ever since. What motivated me was honestly accepting my weight and body. I didn’t look at myself and give myself excuses anymore, I just accepted that I was overweight. I looked at it practically, I didn’t attach much emotion to it. My mentality was: there is a problem and I need to fix it. The first thing I did was I cut out gluten and dairy. Most of the food that triggered my eating included those two things. Those were the only restrictions I had for food. The second thing I did was I ran at least 3 miles every single day, rain or shine. Sometimes it took me 50 minutes and sometimes it took me 25. Some days I felt I could run more, so I did. That’s all I did, just two things. Naturally I chose healthier foods before and after running because I would’ve felt like crap otherwise. Running became fun, easy, therapeutic. I would listen to music and just jog. Something else worth noting I did a lot was imagining myself when I was at my ideal weight. I would almost fantasize a slow life with a good cup of coffee and a small but beautiful bowl of greek yogurt for breakfast. I would bring it to life and romanticize my weight loss journey. What are other dieting success stories?
