Zero points drives me nuts

I miss the days where the WW app grouped your plan by color; green, blue, or purple. That was when I feel food points were truest to the value of the food. Every few months they start changing the way points are scored or zero points or the way that the app is set up and it just drives me nuts. I get that they want people to eat fruits and vegetables and so they basically make every fruit and vegetable zero points but when you are vegetarian or vegan and you already eat a lot of fruits and vegetables it’s so frustrating when you log in an entire day of food and you have not used up any points. I’m sorry, but if I ate potatoes for breakfast lunch and dinner all day, there is no way that it should count as zero points. It’s only keeping track of the bad foods and processed foods. But then I also don’t get the blue dot because I didn’t eat enough in my plan even though I ate all day. I wish I could go back to the old plan where a bowl of potatoes and a garden salad were not counted the same way.

new app layout seen on instagram

okay, so on their instagram yesterday they shared this reel of this woman sharing her day while tracking. I thought to myself immediately “my app doesn’t look like this”. from her other stories, it didn’t appear she was using all in or even the glp-1 mode. if weight watchers as a whole were to just roll out their new app or features to more than a select few at once, this kind of confusion wouldn’t happen. sure, I’d like my app to show protein, veg and points in the food log. not interested in a glp-1. currently in maintenance mode.

Do not join WW if you are TTC

I am a longtime WW member, off and on. I first used it almost 15 years ago to finally get to a healthy weight and maintained that weight loss for years until COVID and multiple pregnancies. After my second baby was born I rejoined through their clinic program. This was when it included compounded semaglutide but I knowingly agreed to continue on when they discontinued that because I wanted to try Zepbound and like the WW tools to track. This is on me but I did not realize the contract would automatically renew for another full year when it expired, because that had never been the policy when I used WW in the past. Well I’m thankfully now pregnant with a planned, wanted baby. I had to submit paperwork to WW verifying the pregnancy and while they canceled the clinic subscription they are insisting I still have to pay for their “core” plan until the contract is up, even though WW says it is not recommended in pregnancy!

This business sucks now. Women have to be the vast majority of their customers, many of using it to lose postpartum weight and get healthier. But now there’s a pregnancy tax if you decide to have a baby before your contract is up! Absolutely insane.

Alternative ways to prepare steel cut oats. Or alternatives to steel cut oats.

I love the nutrition benefits of steel cut oats (and oatmeal generally), but the flavor and texture is off putting. I would love to get some ideas.

Should I join WW?

I was on the WW green plan way long ago and it worked for me. Since then, I tried freestyle and I didn’t like it. I don’t remember having any success with other plans. I’ve lost weight by taking Ozempic. However, I’ve been stuck at the same weight for at least 5-6 months now. I’m in Canada. I take 1 mg of Ozempic. I pay out of pocket and it is too expensive to go up in dosage at this time. I used to like WW for the structure and accountability. I’m wondering how much is the plan like the old green one? Any tips ?

New "Vacation Mode"

I just received an email from WW about "Vacation Mode," which allows you to temporarily pause tracking without losing your streak. I think it's a good option, but Vacation time is when I have to be NORE vigilant due to being out of routine.😆

For me, it would be more useful to use when I'm sick because it's one less thing to worry about and when on a temporary restricted diet, say, for dental surgery.

How I lost 60lbs and kept it off

Former overweight people, who have kept the weight off, what did you do? I’m 5’5 female and I used to be 185lbs, about 6 years ago. I lost 60lbs in a year and I’ve maintained my weight of 125lbs ever since. What motivated me was honestly accepting my weight and body. I didn’t look at myself and give myself excuses anymore, I just accepted that I was overweight. I looked at it practically, I didn’t attach much emotion to it. My mentality was: there is a problem and I need to fix it. The first thing I did was I cut out gluten and dairy. Most of the food that triggered my eating included those two things. Those were the only restrictions I had for food. The second thing I did was I ran at least 3 miles every single day, rain or shine. Sometimes it took me 50 minutes and sometimes it took me 25. Some days I felt I could run more, so I did. That’s all I did, just two things. Naturally I chose healthier foods before and after running because I would’ve felt like crap otherwise. Running became fun, easy, therapeutic. I would listen to music and just jog. Something else worth noting I did a lot was imagining myself when I was at my ideal weight. I would almost fantasize a slow life with a good cup of coffee and a small but beautiful bowl of greek yogurt for breakfast. I would bring it to life and romanticize my weight loss journey. What are other dieting success stories?

Liquid IV and similar

Does anyone know if I need to be counting these? I have to drink them twice a day per my doctor’s orders for a medical condition I have so it isn’t something I can skip out on.

Points Only UI

Returning to WW after a few years of being away. Needless to say, there's been a lot of changes... Is there any way to go back to just the old standard points based UI? Right now that's more important to me than the macro

Points confusion

I faithfully track my points, and try to never go over. What are the "weeklies" for? Are they for splurging? I've been using WW for 2mos and have only lost 5 lbs. The app is so confusing. Is there an instruction manual somewhere? TIA

Points for steps

Does anyone know the formula for how many points daily steps get? Some days it’ll give me a point for 2,000 steps but other days the point doesn’t show up until 3,000 steps. And then the second point comes after 4k or 5k but I can’t really figure out the system (if there is one). It’s not my main source of activity points so it’s not a problem, just confused.

Need protein-rich breakfast ideas that are NOT eggs

Now that I am on 1.0 level of Wegovy, I can't eat my beloved eggs for breakfast because they trigger nausea and sulfur burps. But I love a savory breakfast with lots of protein. What else can I have, any suggestions?

Really struggling, gained weight while under points and macros. 2 weeks in a row. Please help.

The last two weeks Ive somehow gained 1lb each week while consistently staying under my macros and points. I manually reduced my points in the app as well to ensure I'm staying well under my points. The only two macros I've gone slightly over in the last 2 weeks is protein and fiber. The highest calories I've hit over the last week was 2,200 (celebration cheat meal and my app recommends between 2500-2700, so still technically in a deficit) but most days were 1800 or less. My coach said to track every b.l.t. meaning bite lick or taste. So even if I try a bite of someone else's meal, or something like that, ive been tracking it with 1 or 2 points. Any 0 point sauces Ive tracked, not overdoing it on 0 point foods and tracking all of those as well.

I meal prep, which usually consists of 93/7 ground beef, some kind of veggie, and some kind of 0 point sauce (usually one of the g hughs brands). Most of my other meals are prepackaged microwave meals like lean cuisine, or healthy choice steamers.

The only possible explanation I can think of is that

Ive started increasing my weight lifting a decent amount. Im hitting the gym for weight lifting anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, most days hover around 40 mins. Although, I dont think Im gaining muscle at a faster rate than Im losing fat.

Can someone please give me some insight on how I can stop gaining? I feel like Im doing every possible thing right. Im really struggling to stay motivated now.

FitBit & Google Fit

I don't currently have a FitBit, but I recently got an email that the FitBit app is going away, and everything will go through Google Fit. Is that correct?

I also understand that the Weight Watchers app doesn't sync with Google Fit. Is that correct?

I was planning to buy a new FitBit in July with my FSA/OTC allowance. But will I not be able to connect it to WW?

I am on Android (cheap Samsung).

I tried asking the 24/7 WW bot, but it didn't understand my question.

Celebrating a win!

Officially earned my 20lbs down charm today! It’s been 9 months on weight watchers with sustained average loss of 0.5lb/week.

Also went from being essentially sedentary to getting back to weight lifting and trying Pilates for the first time. Now my new favorite way to be active (easy on my joints).

I don’t track on holidays and try to be mindful on weekends without actively tracking. It may not work for everyone, but it has made the program feel more like something I can integrate into life long term rather than a short term diet.

I am amazed by the life changing weight loss posts on this sub regularly. Feeling grateful today for this comparably small win. Ten to go to reach goal!
