How did your Aussie do meeting new baby?

How did your Aussie do meeting new baby?

As the title states.

Tomorrow, I’m scheduled for a c section. My mom will get the dogs from the kennel tomorrow afternoon and my husband & I won’t be home until Monday at the earliest with our new baby.

Our B is a lover girl. Shes 7 but still full of puppy energy. Protective of me, protective of her people but still always after love and snuggles. She’s good on her place and will stay there forever until we let her off but I’m just looking for other stories with aussies meeting babies and how they did :)

My Aussie was attacked by a German Shepard on Thursday

My Aussie is 7, she’s 40 lbs, spayed, female..this would be her third dog fight she’s been in in her life. We’ve worked hard on her reactiveness and got her to a really good place where she wasn’t in constant fear but we’ve had a major set back.

Completely unprovoked on my dogs end, she was attacked from behind by the neighbour dog (Who’s probably 3x the size of her) and pinned to the ground while my mom and the other dogs owner tried to get him off of her. 3cm laceration on her chest that got clipped & cleaned and then surgically glued shut. Shes on antibiotics and has had 2 pain med shots. Now, she’s not wanting to eat. She refuses anything and her antibiotics need to be taken with food so we’re stressed for her. Is this trauma response? Pain? Should we be giving her gabapentin, it was recommended by the vet but he also said by today, she should be in a lot less pain.
