westernwear has a strange relationship with matching everything

there’s a point where matching your hat, boots, belt, buckle and leather accessories starts looking very deliberate.

sometimes that looks great.

other times it feels like every piece was bought from the same display

i think a little mismatch can actually make western outfits look more natural. different shades of leather, worn boots with a newer shirt, an old belt with newer denim.

the pieces don’t necessarily need to agree perfectly

how much matching is too much when putting together a western outfit?

looking for an early morning coffee spot in the bronx

i’m going to be in the bronx fairly early on a couple of mornings and realized i have no idea where to go for coffee that early

i’m talking around 5:30-6am. not really looking for a big brunch place or anything fancy, just somewhere where i can get a decent espresso or cold brew and walk around for a bit.

i’m from dublin, so i’m used to being able to find coffee pretty early, but i know nyc has its own rhythm and i’d rather ask people who actually know the area than rely on whatever shows up first on google.

bonus points if there’s a good walking route nearby. i’ll probably have a couple hours to kill before the rest of the day starts, so somewhere i can grab coffee and walk around would be perfect

doesn’t have to be in morris park specifically. anywhere that’s reasonably easy to get to and actually open that early would help
