First of all, I’m running the marathon with my friends, so I have a vested interest in this being a good experience. I want everyone to have a good time!
But man, woof. If you’ve been following the reporting from the Hi From Cedar Rapids guys, you saw how the website was likely AI generated. The targeted ad I just got definitely is. Where on earth are there stairs like this in CR? What monster would put stairs at the end of a marathon?? Is that man playing the unholy union of a tuba and a saxophone???
The marathon itself is probably going to be fine, but its organization and marketing are pretty disappointing. I just think we deserve better than this.
