How are working professionals managing UPSC preparation with a full-time job?
For those preparing for UPSC while working 8–9 hours a day, how are you managing your schedule?
I'm finding that the biggest problem isn't understanding what needs to be studied. It's actually finding enough consistent time for revision, answer writing and tests.
A few things I'm trying to figure out:
- Is 2–3 hours on weekdays + longer weekend sessions actually sustainable?
- Do you keep weekdays for revision/current affairs and weekends for new topics?
- How do you manage Mains answer writing without neglecting Prelims?
- Do you take leave closer to Prelims, or maintain the same routine throughout?
- How do you deal with days when work gets hectic and the study plan falls apart?
I'm not looking for a perfect timetable. I'd be more interested in hearing from people who have actually managed a job alongside UPSC preparation.
What has worked for you, and what did you eventually realise was a waste of time?
