Need serious help(17f)!!!!!!!!!💅

I have joined this 19 aug PCM fledgling batch any batch mate plz dm.....

Is it just me, or is the Vajiram app interface ridiculously bad? 😭
And the bigger question: how long do they keep recorded lectures before deleting them?

If you’re preparing seriously, having recorded lectures disappear without clear information is honestly frustrating. Anyone here knows the actual retention/deletion policy??😭😭

Missed today's orientation session btw(ye bhi rhta kya recorded)

Can anyone please help how to ensure spaced repetition.

I am new to precalation, covering 2 gs subjects and optional. I want to fix this before it becomes a blunder. I hardly make room for recall let alone spaced repetition.

It is because I read the content/notes/books very slowly in the 1st pass itself. I tried skimming 1st then reading in depth but still don't feel confident even though it helps me read faster.

I read a paper on how to recall onupsc subreddit itself and it included- ankiflashcards, spaced srepetition, blank paper recall etc.

But I'm still struggling with my reading speed. Everything feels wrong, my reading speed, writing speed, recall. All this is affecting my confidence and most of my days end with unfinished targets and no recall.

I put in alot of hours but I take the ffirst pass very slow.

Please guide on how to

1- read faster

2- regularly recall

Is UPSC prep about to shift again?

Saw Jatin Gupta Sir and Sarmad Mehraj Sir`s discussion and it got me thinking.

Does GS2 prep lately feels less about what to study and more about whom to follow.

Jatin Sir has been getting attention for his way of linking Polity with actual UPSC demand and PYQ patterns with changing trends and more application-based questions; I’m wondering if GS2 prep itself is evolving it got me thinking are we still studying Polity the way UPSC wants, or just the way coaching has always taught it? and I have a question for those who’ve actually studied from Jatin Gupta Sir How strong is his base-building for GS2? and overall, does it actually simplify GS2 prep?

APPLICATIONS MADE EASY!!!

I made a free SBI Clerk 2026 photo/signature resizer because these upload requirements are annoying

SBI Clerk applications are open right now and the application asks for multiple scanned images with specific dimensions/file-size limits.

So I made a free tool specifically for this:

https://fitthatpic.com/

It can prepare the:

- Photograph

- Signature

- Left thumb impression

- Handwritten declaration

You can upload your image and get it resized/compressed to the required pixels + KB limit.

You can even view the direct sources.

No account or watermark.

I also added presets for GATE, JEE Main, NEET, SSC, IBPS, RRB, UPSC and other Indian exams.

Hopefully this saves someone from fighting with the SBI upload page for 20 minutes 😭. I had this issue when I was submitting my college applications. I truly hope it helps whoever uses it.

If you notice an application requirement that's missing/wrong, let me know and I'll add/fix the preset. Or let me know if you have any issues or criticisms, I'm always open to them.

To UPSC Veterans:- Im flunking this mains, how do I make sure I have it figured out in the next attempt?

Clear prelims 2026 but lacking mains prep (Lot of gaps in prep- couldnt cover post prelims) . Gave it my best till July end but got toally burnt out ever since- Zero Productivity despite trying to push it as much as possible.
I know I will not make it in Mains but will still put my best foot forward.
For my next attempt I want to make sure I dont waste any time making mistakes I did this time.

Seek your valuable inputs, especially if you cleared mains or are a ranker. 🙏

Mains answer writing

Hey!

I will be starting mains answer writing soon, can anyone suggest some tips. I don’t know why, I just feel so clueless. I find it a little tough to remember statistical data to include in the answer and feel like its exclusion brings down the overall quality of my answers.

If you people could share some of your answers, I’d really appreciate it.

Thankyou!

Suggestions please!!

I have attempted multiple exams so far and the common issue I realised with me is, I always (mostly) mark the answer correct at first but if I revisit that question again, I overthink and mark it incorrect. This has been a pattern with me. I tried to mark-and-forget but it doesn’t happen, my mind keeps going back to “maybe”.

So I need help/suggestions on how to overcome this. If anybody has experienced the same and won over the issue? Tried and tested methods would be of great help!

(Please don’t say ‘revision is the key’, this key isn’t unlocking my exams-lock)

Given the absurd nature of Prelims 2026; how different will be the cohort giving Mains 2026

Considering the Prelims was absurdly different from how it has been always, and also that a huge chunk of Mains prep dominant candidates probably had a larger disadvantage; how different will be the population giving Mains this time, vis a visa previous years.

Not requesting for any emperical data or facts or figures or objectivity but merely educated guesses and personal opinions (backed by a tiny hint of rationale)

Is UPSC coaching becoming too personality-driven?

I was revising Economy recently and came across Vivek Singh’s book again. I think most UPSC aspirants who have done Economy seriously would have at least heard of it.
And then I randomly saw this — he has now started teaching at LevelUp IAS.
It actually made me think about how much the UPSC ecosystem has changed.
Earlier, you’d have a few standard books/sources and that was pretty much it. Now a teacher can start with a book, then YouTube, Telegram, test series, courses… and eventually their own coaching ecosystem.
Not saying this is necessarily a bad thing. If someone has actually spent years teaching and building good content, makes sense that they’d eventually build something around it.
But as an aspirant, sometimes I do wonder — how much of our teacher selection is actually based on teaching quality, and how much is just familiarity with the teacher’s name/brand?
Like, if you’ve already read someone’s book or watched their free content and then they launch a course, does that automatically make you more likely to trust them?
Curious what people here think.
Do you guys choose teachers based on content → teaching → results, or does the institute/brand matter just as much?

Primus IAS Bangalore

Hi everyone! I’m 27F, a surgical resident in a tertiary govt hospital. I’ll be giving my MS exams in October.
After that I’ve decided to join a foundation course with residential campus.
I’d prefer Bangalore or Hyderabad.
I’ve come across Primus IAS Bangalore which seems to be good with only 40 students.
My plan is to use the campus for environment, and study selectively from them and other coaching institutes online.
The primary reason I’m choosing a residential campus is safety, environment for studies, regular test series.

I request you to take a minute and let me know what you think of Primus IAS or if you know any other residential campus dedicated for UPSC prep. Thank you
