I’ve been struggling with agoraphobia for 3 years now, 2 of which I’ve been doing exposure therapy however without much progress. I wanted to ask if someone else is experiencing this thing in particular but whenever I try to leave the city I just can’t…it feels like a force is keeping me here. The panic and all the sensations get very intense and it literally feels like I’m about to lose my mind and everything feels extremely dangerous. The interesting thing is I can go to big stores, malls, dentist appointment, ride public transportation, drive (all those things thanks to the help of exposure therapy) but whenever I pass my 15km safe zone I cannot even imagine it in my mind how it will happen. Is this something common in agoraphobia?
