Getting married in Vienna this June. Small wedding, 50 guests, child-free from the start. Everyone else with kids made arrangements.

My brother and SIL refuse to leave their 5-year-old daughter for a week. SIL only trusts my mom to babysit and won‘t travel without her. I said they need to find care for the ceremony. SIL freaked out and said my niece is coming no matter what.

For context, my niece has serious behavioral issues. At my cousin’s wedding last year, she screamed through the ceremony and stood in front of the groomsmen during speeches. My brother and SIL did nothing. I know they will try to sneak her into my wedding.

I offered compromises: bring a family member to babysit, come for just 2-3 days instead of a week, or we help find a sitter in Vienna. They refused everything.

My parents say I‘m unreasonable and should make an exception. My brother says I’m punishing them for loving their daughter. AITA?
