Front rack reccomendtion

Front rack reccomendtion

Got a Kona Unit X recently, absolutely buzzing about it. Now I want a proper front basket for it, Wald 137 or similar, mainly for shopping runs and general groceries trip round. Trouble is I can't find a front rack compatible. Not Pelago Commuter or Surley 8 pack. Has anyone managed to fit one? My setup 29x2.6" tyres, 110x15mm Boost thru-axle. Looking for recommendations so I can search on-line. Mounting gotchas, alternatives, anything — I'll take it.

GRX flatbar conversion

So I've been trying to convert my 2024 Giant Revolt 0 (aluminium, GRX 12 speed) to flat bar. Bought the Ritchey Kyote bar and started figuring out the drivetrain side of things.

I used Claude to help me source components. Big mistake. Ended up buying a Shimano SL-RS700 (11 speed) which is incompatible with the 12 speed GRX setup. Then Claude told me to swap the original RX-820 derailleur for an RX-822, saying it would work with an SLX M7100 shifter because both are "MTB pull ratio." Bought both from eBay. My bike shop rang Shimano directly and they said it won't work.

So right now I have:

Original RX-820 still on the bike (I think)

RX-822 I bought for ~£60 that's apparently useless

SLX M7100 shifter that's apparently also useless

RS700 that's also useless

Hydraulic brake levers that are fine

A 38T GRX chainring from AliExpress that doesn't fit the FSA crankset without a spider that doesn't exist

The bike shop mentioned there's a GRX flat bar 11 speed shifter (SL-RS700-R-LE) but it's hard to find.

They also found a chainring that might work directly on the FSA crankset, but the tool and correct size are out of stock at their supplier.

Has anyone done this conversion? What actually works? Is the SL-RS700-R-LE the only real option for a flat bar shifter that's compatible with the GRX road pull ratio? Any help appreciated.
