Has anyone gotten WLS AFTER losing with tirz
** I don’t hear much about ppl getting wls AFTER glp-1s I’ve searched a few subs and nothing concrete
I’ve been on compounded tirz for about 8 months now and I’m down 45 lbs. from 280 to 235 , 5’1 F 23 No major lifestyle changes, though I did move out of my parents house so a lot of my stress eating subsided naturally after gaining a sense of agency over life.
I have very light exercise, I walk dogs 3x a week at my local spca for a few hours and I love it. I’m trying to incorporate weight training now to help as well.
About a year before I started tirz I was approved for WLS and even had a date set. About 1 week to my surgery date my parents sat me down and told me not to do it and that I was too young and I still had the ability to lose weight on my own and that surgery was permanent. I was 22 at the time.
I’m now 23 and have since moved out and I’m not sure if I want to continue with tirz long term. Though im responding relatively well with no major side effects, I’m still thinking if I’d really want to take this long term. I see things like rebound weight gain after stopping and they are concerning of course. Especially for me give that I haven’t done anything super intense in terms of lifestyle changes that would mitigate that. I also am just not the best at taking medication. I often sometime stretch my doses 11-12 days apart because of my adversion. Nonetheless tirz has helped me so much, I feel more confident almost 50lbs down I no longer need a seatbelt extender on flights and I can cross my legs.
My goal is to be in the 155- 170 range. So I still have some ways to go. Now that I’ve moved out I am considering the surgery in the future, maybe in the next year or so? I haven’t found much about ppl getting the surgery post glp, it’s usually the other way around. Can anyone pls share their experience??
