a random tavern i made for one chat now has its own economy

so i needed a quick backdrop for a single chat. just a roadside tavern, nothing fancy. then i named the bartender, then she had a rivalry with the miller over grain prices, and now there's a whole drought year baked into the lore that the whole town still complains about. i never planned any of it. it just kept building every time i went back. half my notes are about this town nobody asked for lol. how big has one of your worlds gotten before you realized it kinda got away from you?

what are y'all reading or roleplaying lately? 🤔

i've been scrolling through the recent stuff and i'm curious what everyone's into right now. I've been really addicted to this one fantasy AU where i'm a retired adventurer running a tavern and a mysterious merchant keeps showing up with cursed artifacts. It's honestly been keeping me up way too late lol. Think i've written like 50 replies tihs week just for that one story. So what's everyone else been up to? any plots you can't break away from? or have you found a new scenario that turned out way more fun than you expected? i need fresh ideas for new chats honestly.

we need to admit that AI roleplay gets boring fast now

okay I've been trying to actually sit down and get into a storyline but after like 10 minutes I'm already checked out. idk. Used to spend hours in a single conversation but now I can barely make it past a few messages before I'm scrolling through my phone instead. It's not even that the ai is bad or anything it just kinda loses the spark really quick right? like maybe we just got too used to the novelty wearing off but I dunno. Feels like something's missing that I can't quite put my finger on. Anyone else have that problem or am I just burnt out?
