D23 Question

I know Ahsoka and Starfighter were discussed at D23 and that Filoni said they were not doing THFBS "right now", but did any other Star Wars news come out of D23.

Were there any mentions of the Kinberg trilogy, the Rey movie, or anything else?

Anyone Get Hands on Fall of Kylo Ren?

I placed an order for The Fall of Kylo Ren #1 a few weeks ago. When I went to the comic book store to pick it up, I was told that the order was delayed until next week.

Then I went to Amazon to order a copy, which will arrive next week. The Kindle version is immediately available.

Has anyone received a pre-ordered copy yet?

Rey New Jedi Order movie dead?

I just watched a new Star Wars Meg video, and she is saying that her source tells her that the Rey movie is dead. She also said that the Simon Kinberg trilogy is further along in development than people realize and that there may be announcements about it at D23.

One thing she said that I highly doubt is that an older Rey, possibly played by Helen Mirren, is a possibility, but I heard that years ago in relation to one of the earliest versions of the Rey movie written by the original scriptwriters.

Who knows? I can't decide if I am feeling hope or dread.

Any opinions about this news? I would post a link to the video, but I'm not sure the site rules allow it.

Why Did People Doubt Reylo?

Here's a question that has puzzled me. Why was there controversy over whether or not Reylo was real?

I didn't watch the sequels until 2023 but knew the broad outline of the plot. I had never heard of Reylo. Everything I happened to come across was Rey/Finn or Rey/Poe.

Then I watched The Force Awakens and saw the bridal carry. After watching that moment, I do not understand how anyone could dispute that Rey and Ben/Kylo were the romantic couple of the trilogy. And then I was surprised to learn there was so much controversy over the plotline. What gives? What the heck were this Reylo deniers thinking? I realize that there was some thought that they were siblings or cousins, but it seems even after the truth was revealed, some people refused to accept it.

I'd love to hear any theories or recollections that can explain the failure to understand Reylo.

Question after rewatching The Force Awakens

I carefully rewatched The Force Awakens, and I didn't hear any dialogue or see any facial expressions that would indicate that Han knew that Luke tried to kill Ben. In The Last Jedi I had the impression that Leia knew what had happened.

Does this indicate lack of planning from DLF or was Han not informed?

What head cannon do you guys have on this point?

Also the line where Han say, "He has too much Vader in him" is so wrong. Ben had too much Anakin in him. I have no doubt about that.

Iger's Big Mistake with THFBS and How Karma Is a B****

The reviews for The Mandalorian and Grogu are starting to come in, and the response is lukewarm with some sounding an alarm for the entire franchise. So how does this relate to the Ben Solo movie? Let's recap.

We know that THFBS was ready to go when Iger returned. He nixed the plan in favor of a Rey and the New Jedi Order movie. But the YouTube Bros sphere went nuts and started a whine fest campaign against it. At the same time, KK was rejecting scripts for the NJO movie. (To mess with Iger is my personal conspiracy theory.)

Then out of the blue, it was announced that season 4 of The Mandalorian would become a movie instead. The NJO movie was bumped again for the Starfighter movie directed by Shaun Levy because he had success with the Deadpool and Wolverine movie, and Iger decided he could do the same for Star Wars. The Deadpool and Wolverine movie had been greenlit by Bob Chapek during his brief tenure, and Iger is nothing if not a human Xerox copy machine.

So, if not for Iger, we would be counting down to Ben Solo's return, and I am sure with the talents involved, the reviews would be glowing.

I plan on supporting The Mandalorian and Grogu ( I just bought a Grogu plush for my nephew), but it is difficult not to think about what might have been (and still may be) if not for Iger and his poor decision making.

FanFic Recommendation

The first chapter of Survive, part 4 of Never Very Far Far Away by thebitchofdathomir, has just been posted on AO3. It was one of the best post-sequel stories written, imo. There's humor, smut, adorable Reylo kids, Ben doing his Ben Solo pain train thing, Rey being indomitable, heartbreaking challenges for the Solo family, and hope for the future.

For what it's worth, I highly recommend it.

I'm rewatching The Force Awakens, and I have my own head canon version of what Han should have said to Leia when she arrives on Takodano.

Instead of ":I've seen our son", he should have said, "Good news, Leia. Ben has a girlfriend."

Yes, I realize Rey was being kidnapped, but I don't really care because, well, bridal carry.
