[discussion] The fall of ASMR and the constant tapping epidemic.

In 2009 there was a whisper community on YouTube founded by one person (whisperinglife) who came on and said she gets very relaxed when she hears people whispering and she wanted to know if there was more people out there who did as well.

That was the start of the now “ASMR” community.

It has since turned into such an oversaturated, nightmare, cesspool of people just trying to make money, using unnerving slobbering sounds, and some even sexualizing it.

It’s leaked over into so many things I see online now.
I can’t get a single advertisement about even lipstick without the person shoving it into the camera and tapping loudly on it.
