What’s your best interaction story with a customer?
I took this mom’s order in the drive thru and was met with her daughter who was playing with some cards with pictures. I said she must be very happy and the mom told me she’s on the spectrum as a level 2 non verbal. I responded saying that I am too, I am actually AuAdhd (mix of autism and ADHD), she said she had questions because her daughter was experiencing her first period and didn’t know how to express it. I told her that’s perfectly understandable, in fact I would use drawings and pictures as a way of communicating when I was her age, and I asked if she’s ever heard of American Girl? She said no, and I told her they have books for girls who are starting puberty or any other things, I mentioned that it has a chapter about periods that will help guide her through to help her figure out her own experience. The mom thanked me after and I finished her order. I have worked at Chick Fil A for 2 years, and I’m happy to say that was one of my best interactions.
