Boh question

Hey y’all I’m new and tomorrow will be my fourth day working back of house. I was wondering if someone could give me ALL the phrases that are used for secondary because I’ve just been nervous that when training is over I won’t remember all the phrases. I know I could ask my managers but I kind of want to study them beforehand so if anyone could tell me all of them that would be great. And if there’s anything I should know let me know too please!

How to clean/shut down machines

Machines is the only BOH position where I have no clue how to close, so, what exactly are the steps for shutting down and closing a machine fryer?

i feel like i’m so bad at this job

i was hired and started at a chick-fil-a about three weeks ago, and while i’ve passed training (which is only one week at my location) and can effectively manage drive-thru and dining order-taking (my two stronger links probably because they are easier once you get reps), i feel so incompetent and slow, especially with bagging and drinks. i am a clumsy person naturally (ex. trying to help fill the ice cream machines and having most of it spill over, making my fellow co-workers slightly annoyed). i really want to do a good job and not put so much pressure on myself, but the fast-paced environment is a lot more than i bargained for and is an adjustment for sure.

how has anyone else managed being new to the fast food environment? i feel so tired and don’t regret working here, i just haven’t had time to fully breathe yet lol

Hours

another week of my hours being cut even more… it’s happening store wide, I assume because of all the new employees they’re hiring, including me cause I just got hired I would say about a month ago. When I Started I was getting 32 hours and and now I have 14 hours… I literally can’t live off of that. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to approach my scheduling manager about my concern🥲🥲

Is mixing purple degreaser and red wipes safe?

Today, my shift leader had me clean the drains and I asked if red wipes were safe to use with the degreaser.

After I cleaned some, my throat started to hurt and I am just wondering if I just inhaled something bad

hypothetical parfait question

so i’m a customer, i love the yogurt parfaits so much that i buy the same brand and make them at home. but the yogurt that is used in it is literally only sold at two grocery stores, one of them being whole foods which is actually where i work. but i can never find it bc wallaby (the yogurt company) never has it in stock or has supply chain struggles. if i walked into a chick fil a and asked a manager if i could buy yogurt off of them would they say yes? this is a weird question but im desperate

EXTREME SOCIAL ANXIETY and working F.O.H at Chick-fil-A

Hi,

What do I do??

I applied for the back of house position because of severe diagnosed social anxiety, but got a message today saying they are hiring for front of house, not so much back of house.

I am really scared, as this is my first job EVER and.. well yeah just that.

I am terrified of a customer going "off script" and asking for something we don't have or wanting something we can't do like I've seen on this subreddit.

I feel genuinely like throwing up from how much anxiety and adrenaline is going through me and I don't even START today.

Can anyone help me? Is this as bad as I think it is? Because to be completely honest I may have a damn panic attack over something this simple.

Finally done after 3 years

3 years in boh, 2 as manager. Finally got a job offer in HVAC and took it without thinking twice.

Last day was a few days ago and man I feel free.

Anyone who wants to leave but can’t, try harder I’m telling you.

How to decline customer requests?

I’ve had so many customers make some requests that my location doesn’t allow such as

- an extra well done filet

- extra breading on nuggets

- large cups of ice

Now usually I’ll tell them that we actually can’t do that but sometimes the customer will get an attitude. Yesterday a customer said that they come all the time for breakfast and scoffed when I said I couldn’t give them a large cup of ice. Genuinely how do I tell them I can’t do that without making them upset and potentially escalating the situation?

I need a second opinion. Any store or talent directors willing to dm me and help figure this out?

I just want to talk about my recent interviews and figure out why I didn't get hired. I'm afraid to call and ask the managers who interviewed me because they'll probably just repeat what the email said: "We decided to move forward with other applicants." Which doesn't help me improve at all and I don't know if that's supposed to be professional or they just don't want to hurt my feelings. I really want someone to give me honest feedback. I'll give as many details as possible.

TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT

The location I work at is so bad and I’m over it I’m already on indeed every and during my break.

2 people threw up in the bathroom today one person 3 times my size fainted because they hid that they were anemic and have hard times outside in the heat! I had to help carry them now my arm is bruised and hurt.

understaffed!

they're hiring back to back with no people to train the people

the trainers we have aren’t training them right so orders are getting made wrong, doing refund and remakes left to right

4 call outs a day no infraction

I just don’t understand how as an operator you could have such a disregard for your people and we do 50k days with some people having to do 2 positions struggling

IM TOO PRETTY FOR THIS

Getting coach for something that I am trying hard to do to the point that I am exhausted and hurting

I work overnight and I just got coached for not being fast enough even though I have two two team leads that I am adhd so time management is overwhelming to me to the point of having anxiety. They keep giving me tips that I have tried before when I was in school that didn't help because it caused even more stress for me. I am to the point where I am looking for another job because I put my body through a lot to the point my back hurts from bending over and kneeling on the hard ground to put fraight out, inhave bruises from when i ran into my topstock car by accident and from catching myself on the boxs because i was rushing, i have almost falling asleep at the wheel while driving, because my coach has me on split days even though i have my set days as back to back i have a headache because the building is extremely hot in my area and all I want to do right now is cry because I try so hard to meet my times and make sure that I have no overstock left that can go out, but I also have to fix the plug ins, deal with trash, surprise pallets, and trying to work top stock down so I can put over stock out. Even on my 11 to 7 days I have skipped my 15 just so I can meet my time. I have worked a little into my lunch just so I can meet my time.

Post Interview question.

I’d love to get some opinions. I interviewed at Chick fil a today around 2 p.m., and I felt it went really well. I have open availability, about 5 years of fast food experience, and I’m very open to feedback. The interviewer said they’d let me know by the end of today, but it’s now 8 p.m. and I haven’t heard anything.
I’m currently unemployed, and Chick fil a is the job I want most, so I’m definitely overthinking it. 😅 Is it normal to hear back this late, or should I expect to wait until tomorrow? Is there still a chance?
Sorry if this isn’t allowed. I don’t know anyone who works at Chick-fil-A, so I was hoping to hear from people who’ve been through the hiring process.

Director of operations (kitchen) interview?

So I have a question for existing and previous Director of operations at Chick-fil-A for the kitchen. I am currently in the final phases of the interview process for this role and I just want to get a real life understanding of the day today.

This position is hourly. Do you get a lot of overtime?

I was reading online that director of operations for the kitchen don’t really cook and if they do, it’s very minimal. Is this accurate?

Does this position manage labor, budgets, create schedules and hire for the kitchen staff?

What’s the dress code like for director of operations for the kitchen? I read it to business casual so you don’t have to dress like everyone else?

anyone else’s cfa really bad with pay/raises

so i turned 16 recently and been working at cfa for 9 months and was wondering about a raise because I know all my co workers get paid like 13 an hour starting at 16(and i was told by my boss i would get one at 16). Ever since summer started i been working 25+ hours a week and getting paid 10 dollars an hour which i thought was kinda insane. I worked 31 hours last week for 10 an hour. I have only called out once, i ALWAYS come in if they ask me to, I have never been given a warning, so i thought i deserved a raise because everyone else who started at 16 is getting paid 13. i’m also homeschooled so i can work lunches during the school year and thought i deserved a raise.

I ask him and he says no which i lowkey thought was gonna happen. I start kinda complaining about it to my co workers and they tell me there’s like many people there who’s been there for 3 years and never got a raise and everyone who started at 10 also asked for a raise and never got one. I was just wondering if this is just my place or if cfa is just really bad with pay.
