Start tmmr morning

So I’m 23 and at the beginning of the month quit my jobs at another food establishment that I’ve been with for 3 years and was a shift lead. It was my first job and now I’m at CFA. I’m extremely nervous yo start tomorrow at 6 in the morning. I know the first day or couple days imma be pretty much useless because I will be learning everything. But tomorrow imma show up hopefully doors are open in dining room at 6 and say it’s my first day and change into my uniform which I hope fit😬. What should I expect on my first day?

customer was upset we didn’t have kids toys

so, we ran out of kids toys one night because our director that did inventory left for corporate, and this lady came up and was like “i ordered on the app and we didn’t get our kids toys” so i politely explained to her that we didn’t have any, but i could give her icecream in a cup or cone instead.

well, she goes on to tell me that her husband has had an allergy to the ice cream, and so has one of her two sons so she doesn’t want to get the ice cream. she then asks, “can i just get milkshakes instead?”

i’m gonna give you a second to think about that one

Are me and my boyfriend fired?

Me and my boyfriend started working at the Chick-fil-A in my city about a month ago (I work FOH and him working BOH) so we could get an apartment together close to home and college for when I decided to go back to school. However some family issues came up in which my uncle and my childhood pet passed away (we knew it was coming, just didn’t know when it would happen) so I had to call off a couple days. Yes I know it’s not great since I just started working there but I refuse to not go and see my family when they are at their worst just because I work that day. I even offered to pick up any shifts that were available to make up for it and explained why I was calling off the days I did.

A few weeks go by and I notice my shifts were getting cut to like 2 days a week rather than the 4 or so that I was getting. I wasn’t particularly concerned since it is a newer restaurant and they hired a lot of people and now that it’s winding down they don’t need as many people at one time, but I still tried picking up shifts when others were dropped. The only problem was not one of those shifts were accepted. I even tried picking up to 3 shifts one week.

Well I called one day when I only got 1 shift for the next week and asked if I could be notified of ANY shifts I could pick up plus I was still trying to pick up shifts through hot schedules. I still got nothing. Then I didn’t even get a shift the next week and I asked my boyfriend if he could ask them when he went in the next day but he didn’t get a straight answer from them, just that they’ve got a lot of new people to train and that I’ll get hours the next week. Next thing we know my boyfriend gets his hours cut to 2 days a week and then last week down to nothing while I still don’t have any hours.

Just this week I went to see if maybe I had any shifts or if I could pick any up(not that they’d be accepted) and I can no longer access hot schedules or slack. My boyfriend still has access but we’re not sure how long that will be if he doesn’t get any hours. I’ve been looking for a new job pretty much since my hours got cut down since we can’t support ourselves on half our normal income but I’m not sure what to do at this point? How should I proceed with this?

Flies, everywhere!!!

My restaurant has had flies for months, I let them know the first time I noticed them and they didn’t really seem to care. At first it was small fruit flies by the utility sink but since then they’ve become a huge issue. It’s gotten to the point where when open desserts (frosted, milkshakes, floats, etc) are waiting for expo flies will literally land on them. They’ll be by the sink and ice bucket just waiting. As a germophobe it makes me sick, I literally just can’t believe no one’s doing anything. I work in FOC so I’m not sure if it’s an issue in the back but if so that’s awful. Should I say something, how should I go about it? Usually I just mind my business but this is ridiculous, I don’t think I’m being dramatic.

No points system ?

I see many people have an attendance point system at their chick fil a for example like 7 points for call outs etc does this mean we don’t use points but instead hours for example be being part time I only get In trouble if I reach more than the 17hours given is anyone else’s like this or am I completely wrong but I can’t find the point chart anywhere and if yours is like this as well if I use my sick time to call out (no drs note ) am I excused from the call out meaning no hours taken from me ? ( not scheduled for a few day and I need to know)

Does anyon else's employee cup taste weird?

The more I use my employee cup for drinks, the less good/weirder they taste. I can never seem to get it fully clean. There is always some odd smell.

I understand that the styrofoam cups make drinks taste different/better, but it's not just that. My cherry coke tastes different than normal cherry coke.

Does anybody else have this problem? What was the fix?

Interview tomorrow

I’ve got an interview tomorrow at my local chickfila, when I filled out the employment application I set my availability to morning shifts, full time availability

What I’m wondering is if they’ll schedule me accordingly. Or did you guys face back and forth over scheduling? And what should I expect when being interviewed? I have 2 years food service so I think I’m going to nail this but just so in prepared I guess

Can I have some interview tips?

I applied for FOH last week, so I'm trying to prepare for if I have an interview. I want to work full time, I've been unemployed for a while because other companies kept ghosting me, so I really, desperately want to work at chick fil a. If I get an interview and fail it I'm gonna be so sad 😂

Is there anything that can improve my chances? I'm kind of a socially awkward person, but I'm friendly, I'm good at interacting with customers, and I'm a quick learner... I just really hope they get back to me and I can get hired :,)

Should i apply for FOH or BOH

Hello everyone, I’ve recently left my old cfa job as im moving to college in a couple days. I will have to reapply all over again at the new city that I will be living in, and I want your guys opinion on if either FOH or BOH is better/ easier job for a college student. When i worked at my old location during the summer, I was FOH and I already been working in customer service for around two years now, but honestly feel like trying something new for my new/returning job as the only major issue i dealt with being front was the lack of hours and I would really prefer getting good hours as I need all the money possible since im living alone.

Any advice is also appreciated🫡

Why does this happen

Can someone please explain why half the time I get sandwiches like the one in the first picture with not much breading and then sometimes I get sandwiches with adequate breading? What causes this? Are they skipping a step during the breading process? I feel like when it’s not breaded right it makes the chicken tough and chewy as well.

Minimum amount of hours per week required as a chik fil a owner operator

I'm curious how many hours per week an owner operator is required to work and I'm curious to see if a chik fil a opportunity is even worth it in the long run

New hires confused about CFA hierarchy roles? Read this!

Red teammates, gray trainers or team lead, black or navy blue is shift supervisor, and director depending on store (my director wears different colors) certain shade of blue, black, or gray depending on location. operator? Just something neat and professional, not a strict dress code they follow. So new hires I hope this information helps you tell who to ask for help if your team member doesn't have an answer!

Btw if front counter or outside drive thru, the tablet thing is color coded as a way to help!

I’m a trainee but I can’t work that Friday or Saturday for next week, any advice on what to do?

From what I know is that trainees can’t offer shifts so I’m in a bit of a bind right now because those days I’ll be out of town

How competitive is the owner operator process

I'm curious how competitive it is to become an owner operator and if there are and tops or tricks to increase ones odds at successfully becoming one

DTO Chick-fil-As (Drive-Thru Only)

Does anyone have signs posted at their DTO explaining that there's no indoor dining & no entrance for guests? If so, are the signs helpful?

All of the doors at my location say "Team Members Only" (but nothing that explicitly says "No Indoor Dining") and customers are constantly trying to walk into our FOH entrance. Many others just walk around the building, looking confused until a team member chases them down to explain that there's no entrance. We've thought about getting signs posted, but we don't wanna waste time & money if the customers may not even read them.

New hire in BOH but want to switch to FOH — how do I ask?

I just started working at Chick-fil-A and I was hired for BOH. It hasn’t even been a week yet, but I’m realizing that I’d really like to work FOH instead.

How should I go about asking to switch? Should I talk to my BOH leader first, the FOH leader, or the director/manager?

I don’t want to come across as difficult or like I’m already unhappy with the job since I’m literally brand new 😭. I’m completely willing to keep working BOH, I just think FOH would be a better fit for me.

Has anyone switched from BOH to FOH shortly after getting hired? How did you approach it?New hire in BOH but want to switch to FOH — how do I ask?
