I don't like it when they don't use the Umbrella Man on the album covers (or just the umbrella as a reference, like on the album Monsters in the Closet), it's almost as if he's one of the band members to me at that point 😅
My impressions of this movie!
I watched it for the first time, what a wonderful movie! There aren't many fight scenes, but the ones that are there... holy shit. It was my first Donnie Yen movie, and I’m already excited to check out his entire filmography! Another surprise was Sammo Hung as the villain, I’d always seen him as the "cool, chubby guy" in movies, the comic relief,so seeing him play the bad guy was mind-blowing. That long, gray hair made him look like such a badass villain, though. (I’ve always found it impressive that, even being a bit chubby, he was fast as hell, and i was even more impressed watching this one, seeing that his fighting speed hadn't dropped off at all despite his age... goddamn.)
My lucky Stars (1985) : out of all the famous characters (and there are a lot of them in this movie), the one I least expected to see was Arale 😂😂😅
Last night, I watched The 8 Diagram Pole Fighter
The movie is fun, packed with great choreography and practical effects that were excellent for the time—like the fight scene with Pole Wolf (the best scene in the movie). It’s a great film; I just didn't get the big final fight—what was the deal with everyone losing teeth? WTF, hahaha—it’s so random
This project (Sweet Sad Sugar) further confirmed why this band is my favorite. 💖🖤🤍
I didn't know what to expect when the first part (*Sweet*) dropped—I didn't think the EP was all that strong—but when the second part (*Sad*) came out, I realized they were saving the best for last. Listening to *Sugar* today, I felt the old Mayday Parade back and stronger than ever: melodic, catchy, explosive choruses, powerful guitars, and Derek sounding better than ever. Seeing the band still so excited and calling this project a fresh new start for them made me so happy... Holy goddamn, I love this band so much; I still can't believe we basically got an "album with nearly 30 songs"—we’re really well-fed, friends!
