Is there room for subtle female vocals in metal, ex Pink Floyd/ Heart style
I sing in a progressive grunge band that has some metal undertones, and people compare my voice to David Gilmour from Pink Floyd. I get a lot of positive feedback from my live performances and people who listen to the music but when I’ve tried to promote my music within any heavy genre, I get a lot of feedback saying there’s no strength behind the vocals. I’m undeterred, but it’s frustrating because I personally like a softer more subtle stoicism with lyrically and in vocal delivery. Thoughts?
