Is that Harvey guy here? Are you going to raise rates soon?

What that graph means is that companies like Harvey that charge a flat rate for unlimited use of all the top models will eventually have to raise prices, forcing firms to choose between the AI costs or employee salaries (layoffs). It's already happening at Microsoft and Uber per Hedgie. That's the problem with AI, the providers can raise prices any time they want after they lock you in.

Do you think AI's are reading this board to learn how to act like human associates?

That's probably the last step before they take over.

I'm too mentally weak for biglaw

I just realized this. I want to enjoy life not eat "eat bitter," an expression a Chinese associate recently share about how she thrives here. I'm bitchmade. Come to think of it Patrick Bateman was too, that's why he did no work all day. He spent his day exercising, eating well, taking care of himself and listening to his Walkman, a pampered life. That's how you know he didn't do any of those things. Bitchmade men couldn't hurt a fly. I'm bitchmade and I need to find another life.

S&C in the news

https://www.nytimes.com/2026/05/14/nyregion/gautam-adani-billionaire-doj-trump.html?smtyp=cur&smid=tw-nytimes

Mr. Giuffra’s efforts on Mr. Adani’s behalf culminated in a previously unreported meeting last month at the Justice Department’s headquarters in Washington, according to people familiar with the meeting. Mr. Giuffra ticked through about 100 slides outlining why prosecutors lacked basic evidence, as well as the jurisdiction even to bring the case, one of the people said.

Another slide also made an unusual offer: If prosecutors dropped the charges, Mr. Adani would be willing to invest $10 billion in the American economy and create 15,000 jobs, echoing a pledge he had made in the wake of Mr. Trump’s election.

As part of the same meeting, Mr. Giuffra sought to resolve a parallel civil case against Mr. Adani brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as a separate investigation by the Treasury Department. Both of those agencies are now preparing to strike settlements with Mr. Adani and impose financial penalties, according to people familiar with the deals.

Although prosecutors later told Mr. Giuffra that the $10 billion investment would play no role in the resolution of the criminal case, his offer received a favorable response from at least one senior Justice Department official at the meeting, according to the people familiar with the meeting.

Biglaw destroyed me, like to the core

For the first time today I realized how much weight I gained. I thought the extra 25lbs were hidden but saw my face in the mirror at an angle and it was all puffy, feminine and bloated. I used to laugh at guys like me and feel bad for them, like they were second-class citizens. I would have never ever gained weight before this job. Eating healthy and being lean was in my constitution but this job's demands have rewired my priorities. Thinking of quitting I can't deal with this life.

Don't want this to be me https://wl-brightside.cf.tsp.li/resize/1200x630/webp/ad6/01b/4106c555f7a78d9cad9fd11557.jpg.webp

Serious post: I spent a few weeks studying a small businesses exit

Before giving up and crossing that possibility off of my plans.

Looked at it every which way but Sunday. It was all horrible. If you think partners and biglaw clients are bad you don't want to know about regular employees and customers. I'm kind of depressed about this now because it means I have no better option than biglaw.

The only real exit is the lottery or something like that. Damn I wish I could have some money.

What happened to Hollywood Blvd?!

Everything and I mean everything closed. Musicians Institute. Katsuya. Pep Boys. Playmate's Shoes. That discount suit store. So many other places. Every single business I remember is gone and they weren't replaced they're just empty now. I can't believe it. Does anyone live there who can explain what happened?

Edit: I was so curious that I went there just now and it's like it always was. Upper scale from la brea to highland a little downscale after that but not at all dead. Maybe a little more gentrified actually. Lots of cool new stores/restaurants /bars too there was a new Japanese store for example. Damn German in Venice and his bs. At least I got some popeyes.

Saving a few reddit biglaw careers

I know some of you think of spending the biglaw $$$ on prostitutes but here's a video of what will happen if you do that, so don't. You'll lose your license and everything.

My theory is the level of work increased to the point where you had no time to dress up. It used to be a good professional lifestyle now it's a high-paying sweatshop.
