Switched from Modern to Classic as beginner
hi, i just want to tell my experience as a beginner and some realisation.
i played the game for about ~50hrs on and off.
last 2 weeks i decided to go back to the game and lock in for a matter of time. just to see how i far i can get.
so i played as a beginner with modern controls. i had fun, it was a great entry, but it didnt felt right for me. i wanted to use the whole roster of my char (Ed) but i hated the dpad of the ps5 controller.
so i ordered the 8bitdo m30 and told myself, the day this controlles arrives, i will change to classic. it will be easier for me, because of the 6 button layout and the better dpad.
side note for everyone who is searching for a great controller, get the 8bitdo m30. its really great.
anyways, so i did that, watched some tutorials, tried some bnb combos in the lab and hopped in the ranked matches.
i read a few threads about modern controls in the past and that changing the controls, will feel like another game. i didnt believed it, thought they were salty or something like that.
but holy moly, it is.
it feels like you try riding the bike for the 2nd or 3rd time, but this time without the holding hand from your parents.
you maybe can get that, but it will be very hard.
the landing felt painful, but in another way, now it just feels right.
this is not a rage, i'm not mad about people playing like how they want.
but there is a little realisation.
i still suck and will suck for a long time and will stay a while in bronze, but now after i switched to classic, sometimes i feel something like "frustration"? if its the right description - when i have to play against modern controls.
so now i can understand some bitterness.
but, play the game like you want and how you have the most fun out of it.
dont let other people tell you how you should do it.
i just wanted to say, that i'm happy about myself, that i could switched the controls and that i hopefully will improve now, how i wanted to improve since i started playing the game.
and if i can do that, you can do that too. go classic!
