For those who know or care, I was working on a visual novel that has my OC's story. So I'm on vacation with family which means lots of younger kids (4-12 or so). Some of them got their hands of my art tablet and apparently thought it would be funny to just start deleting stuff. Including multiple assets that I haven't transferred to my laptop for work. I probably should've backed them up, but they got rid of almost all of my background art and all of my sprites. They also got to some personal pieces and one commission piece. I still have Tsubaki sprites that I posted awhile back. I'm a bit lazy and don't really want to re-draw the backgrounds.

The parent's of the kids that did this are already handling their kids and it's not my place to do or say anything other than "hey your kids deleted some of my work." They're handling it and last I saw those kids are in big trouble for it. The commission was from another family member and they're alright with me having to start over since they watched what happened.

I do enjoy drawing so I'll probably go back to the idea of just making her series as a manga (i have made a few pages physically before the VN idea) and may consider going back to the VN at some point. 😄

With that said, please don't be vague. Saying "Mary Sue's" doesn't help saying "They're powerful for no reason" is better and gives me a direction of understanding.

I'm only asking this for research as I know most OC's get a bad rep and I want to understand why people like or dislike certain things. While I understand that seeking to please everyone pleases nobody at all, understanding the basics will be helpful to me while I'm working through the second draft.
