Discontinuity in Doctor Who

What are your favourite or funniest Doctor Who examples of characters meeting each other before their established on screen meeting?

I’m thinking of things like River Song having already met Doctors we never saw her meet on TV, the Doctor meeting the “wrong” incarnation of the Master, or stories that reveal two characters have crossed paths somewhere in the Doctor Who timeline that we simply weren’t aware of.

I’ve already posted this over on r/BigFinishProductions, but I thought it would be interesting to ask here too.

The more ridiculous the continuity gymnastics, the better.

Future of the War Master Range

Has there been any indication whether the War Master box set coming out in October might be the last one?

I haven’t seen anything official either way, but I was curious if Big Finish has said anything in interviews or at conventions.

I’d love to see the series continue because it’s one of my favourite Big Finish ranges, but I also understand that Derek Jacobi is getting older.

Is Big Finish Day worth travelling to from Scotland?

I’ve been thinking about going to Big Finish Day
next year and was wondering what it’s actually like.

I’m from Scotland, and flights down are surprisingly cheap, so travel isn’t too much of an issue. If I did go, I’d probably make a weekend of it by seeing a few shows and doing some sightseeing as well.

For anyone who’s been before, what’s the day itself like? What sort of guests usually attend, and are the panels and Q&As worth it? Is there much chance to meet the actors, writers, or production team, and does it feel like there’s plenty to do throughout the day?

I’d be interested to hear whether you thought it was worth travelling for and if you’d go again.

last min addition: This would be a solo trip so wouldn’t mind potentially meeting up with people etc

HNC to Uni Question

Hi everyone,

I had a conditional offer to enter second year at GCU after completing my HNC, and I’ve now received my results.

I actually achieved more than what I needed to meet the conditions of my offer.
I’m just wondering what happens next.

Does my college automatically send my results to UCAS or directly to the university, or do I need to email GCU with my transcript/results myself?
I’m going to email the university tomorrow just to be safe, but I was curious what usually happens and whether anyone else has been through this.

Thanks!

Are intensive driving courses in Glasgow/Lanarkshire still worth it in 2026?

I’m wondering if intensive courses are still worth the money with the current test waiting times and demand for lessons.

Has anyone done an intensive course recently in places like Glasgow, Motherwell, Wishaw, Hamilton, East Kilbride, or surrounding areas?

Did it actually help you get on the road quicker, or did you finish the course and then end up waiting months for a practical test anyway?

I’m also curious whether people found intensive courses better than taking weekly lessons. Was the fast pace helpful, or did it feel like too much information at once?

Any recent experiences, recommendations
or advice would be appreciated before I commit to spending the money. Thanks.

Do most people here buy Big Finish audios at full price or wait for sales?

I’ve been listening to Big Finish for a while now, but I almost always buy things when they’re discounted. With the number of releases they put out, I find it hard to justify paying full price unless it’s something I really want to hear straight away.
I’m curious what everyone else does.

Do you regularly buy releases on launch day at full price or mainly wait for sales and bundles?

Have you found it’s worth paying full price for newer releases, or do you usually hold off until a discount comes along?

Interested to hear how other listeners approach it, because I feel like I’m in the minority sometimes waiting for sales before picking things up.

Torchwood Outbreak Question

Bought Torchwood Outbreak from the sale that’s currently on. Main reason for buying it was Norton Folgate and have listened to most of Torchwood Soho and none of the “Story Continued” range.

So my question is >!Why did Norton want Ianto dead? I know Norton frequently double crosses and has his own plans so does this link to anything or did he only encourage Jack to kill Ianto for the sake of it!<
