Bought a game in 2022, developer restricted my region in 2025, Steam refused to helpo

Hi.
So recently I have had a case being responded unpleasantly by Steam support.

I wanted to play a game, called Disney Dreamlight Valley. I bought the game back in 2022 on Steam. After a long time, when the game isn’t in early access anymore, I wanted to check it out, to my pleasant suprise, an error occurs ”This game is not currently available on your region” (Vietnam). I was baffled, did a little research, turned out the devs stopped selling the game for my region on June 13, 2025 (steamdb), no warning, announcement or anything that I can find. So, I was puzzled, went on Steam support to ask for help regaining access, NOT refund. And their only option is for me to personally remove the game out of my own library and buy it again?! lol. Also reccommended me to ask devs about region restrictions? Idk, like, 3 years in advance? Come on, lol Is it just me who think this is not very reasonable?

Please note English is not my first language, however I think I was not rude or anything, more of frustration during the support conversation.

So my question is, with the recent backlast from Playstation ditching their physical copies, are we really safe with Steam? What are our rights as consumer when devs just randomly restricted our game that we spent money on? I feel like I don’t own anything at this point.

Update: To anyone who refers to the new law in my region, this is the only game seemingly affected by it. Nothing else till this date as I have bought and played many other games on Steam in this period. So why is only this particular game different?
