Ringo update!

For those that saw my previous post about Ringo, here’s a quick update!

Post-op; he’s extremely high. like, higher than i’ve ever been (probably). Since coming home, he was able to make his way to the litter box with no help from anyone! Of course, we were hovering over him like helicopter parents, but he was up and moving as soon as he got out of his carrier! He has since found a spot as seen in the pictures, but I do not trust it (him, to not flop around like a fish and harm himself further)

that being said, i am literally on my way home from getting a dog crate from my dad to put Ringo in lol.

Ringo is expected to make a wonderful recovery, and I have bought him a plush cone that will be in the mail soon! i forgot who suggested it, but thank you!!

Ringo is losing his leg :(

This is Ringo! Quite the character kitty, he loves a good conversation and creating the most chaos and biggest disasters possible!

Last night, while i was not home but according to my roommate and bf, he got scared by my roommates walking stick (possibly thinking it was a snake), and flew several into the air, landing on our table.

We took him to the emergency vet where they told us he completely shattered his right hind leg and a cast is not good enough to save it

Unfortunately, the cost for surgery is far too much, and i am afraid of the lasting effects trying to fix his leg would do in the long run. And due to the time it may take before a vet can see him, he is going to lose his leg :(

How do I need to prepare for a tripod kitty in any way? I’m thinking of cushioning my apartment for his recovery, should i keep them up after he heals too? Will I need ramps for him to climb?

He has been in high spirits, all things considered! me and Ringo will get through this together, and have a stupid story to share at the end of it!
