Is the Summercart64 a good buy? I have questions.

So, I recently purchased an N64 with a few games, two controllers and the expansion pack. I don't know much about the Summercart64, but it seems like it would be good to be able to play a lot of games without having to find and purchase individual cartridges. I would still be buying certain hard copies for nostalgia, but this seems especially useful for games i want to try but haven't played (it would be a bummer to spend the money on a game only to find that i don't like it).

I've seen it suggested in some threads here. The Amazon description seems pretty straightforward; it appears to be a cartridge for games that you can plug in directly to the N64. Does it come with games already loaded? Do you need to connect the drive to a computer to find games and download them? If so, do the games cost money or can you find those for free, and are most easy to find? Are there games that don't usually work with it? Are there any issues with save files? Any information would be appreciated.

My wife is awesome.

So I've never quite forgiven myself for selling my original jungle green N64. But my wife and i went to a game con a few weeks ago and she encouraged me to buy another one and some games. I got Donkey Kong 64, Kirby 64 The Crystal Shards, and Super Smash Bros.

I had really wanted Conker's Bad Fur Day, but I hadn't realized how expensive it would be. There were several booths at the con that had a copy, and the most common price was around $300, with only one under $200. I didn't buy it, but then I got this as a father's day present! My wife went to a bunch of places and found a copy for a comparably reasonable price.

...she then watched in horrified amusement as she saw the game and I explained that my mom, a therapist who didn't even want me touching a game with guns in it, bought this for me without reading the box, assuming that because it had a cute cartoon squirrel, it would be appropriate for her 12 year old.

The only downside is that my daughters have been enjoying playing my other games with me and I need to make sure that they don't come in while this is on the TV.

Games suddenly not to ratio?

Okay, so I just bought an N64 console and some games last weekend and it's been a blast. It took a bit to get it rolling on my LG smart TV (not a fancy one or a big one), but things were working well.

But I just got home and tried to turn it on and now suddenly the games that I've already played which filled up to full-screen are appearing in a long, thin rectangle in the middle, and distorting the visual of the games so they don't look right at all.

Any idea why this has happened? I can't seem to Google it because every option is for an emulator. I'm just trying to enjoy some games lol.

Would you rather be able to turn metal into wood, or be able to turn into a rock?

So I'm using two examples of side characters I'd written in a comic. Niche superpowers!

Option 1: you gain the ability to turn metal into wood in your immediate vicinity. It has a radius of about ten feet. You have no control over the type of wood it becomes, so it could be balsa wood, oak, pine, etc. The wood isn't stained or finished, it's just wood. You have no ability whatsoever to reverse this effect. If an item is too large to be enclosed within the radius of your power, it fails entirely. You may have a modest future ahead of you by moving to New Mexico and making a little shop in which you sell artsy, "hand-carved" items that are really just the spoils of you drunkenly stealing people's lawn furniture and claiming you made it.

Option 2: you can transform into a rock. Not a rock golem, not a statue of yourself, just a rock about the size of a lopsided basketball. You do not maintain your senses as a rock. You're kinda vaguely aware of vibrations, but you don't see, hear, smell or taste, and feeling is a bit iffy. This is also not an indestructible rock, and it's always the same rock, which means that any damage you sustain as a rock translates into damage to your human body. So if you try to use it to jump from a high window and the rock gets chipped, you may be missing a couple fingers as soon as you turn back and need immediate medical attention to stop the bleeding. There isn't a time limit to how long you can stay a rock, but you don't get hungry at exactly the same rate as normal despite not having a stomach, so it's really going to suck after a while.

So, which incredibly handy power are you taking? You don't have to attempt to be a superhero, but you can feel free to get creative in how you use it.
