Can anyone tell me if the Baofeng UV-5R Mini would be any use?

I work on an extremely large construction site and looking for something that I can speak to my other colleague at the far end of the site.

Also, I’m here. There is a number of cranes working who use UHF radios. Will I be able to hear what they say or scan all frequencies to find them?

Can anybody tell me if there is any lodges in Scotland that hold meetings all through the summer?

I will be travelling through Scotland this summer and would love the chance to visit any Lodge that might be open for a meeting
