Locke Matchup Discussion #2: Akali

Locke Matchup Discussion #2: Akali

Welcome to the Locke Matchup Discussion.

Today we have the Akali matchup...

Here is a list of common points that we want to see on every matchup:

  • Difficulty score from 0 to 10 (0 being super easy, 5 being a skill matchup, and 10 being a "you should dodge" card)
  • Level 1 strategy and level 6 stategy.
  • Which ability you should try to dodge with Ashen Persuit.
  • Which ability the enemy needs to use for you to safely cast Purgatory.

Optionally, you can talk about:

  • Runes you prefer.
  • Items you prefer.

Jax Matchup Discussion 2.0 #25: Nasus.

Welcome to the twenty fifth Jax Matchup Discussion!

Let's talk about Jax versus Nasus...

Remember that the idea of this discussion is to find what's the commonly-used way to play a matchup; not only focused on runes and/or items, but mostly on the trade patterns and general difficulty of the matchup, since items and runes may change between seasons, yet -unless a rework happens- a champion's kit doesn't change.

So, you can talk about the runes and items you like to go on a matchup, but what we really want to see is how to play the matchup; if you can play aggressive early game, if you win pre or post level 6, if you should use Leap Strike to engage or disengage, and so on.

If you want, you can give the matchup a difficulty score from 0 to 10 (0 being super easy, 5 being a skill matchup, and 10 being a "you should dodge" card)

Locke Matchup Discussion #0: How does it work?

Hey everyone!

Every Wednesday, at 7:00 PM (UTC), we will post a new champion, starting from A to Z. The first list will constist of common midlaners, and the second list of common toplaners. Once both are done, we will do jungle, and then botlane and support.

The idea of this discussion is to find what's the commonly-used way to play a matchup; not only focused on runes and/or items, but mostly on the trade patterns and general difficulty of the matchup, since items and runes may change between seasons, yet -unless a rework happens- a champion's kit doesn't change.

So, you can talk about the runes and items you like to go on a matchup, but what we really want to see is how to play the matchup; if you can play aggressive early game, if you win pre or post level 6, when you should use Ashen Persuit to engage, and so on.

All of the information submitted on these discussions will be used on The Locke Bible that we are working on, and planning on releasing as soon as we get everything set up.

And that's it from this post! Thank you for reading, and we hope to see your contribution on the post about Ahri on July 15th!

[WIP] The Locke Bible

Inspired by TUCLG made by AfroSaiyan and Karius-Nym, I decided to help facilitate organizing Locke's matchups.

To do that, I made this website, which hosts literally every single champion, and everything anyone may know when laning against them.

It is still very early in development, thus the reason most of the information is either the same for each matchup or entirely missing. I started this on June 27th.

If anyone has anything they want to contribute, feel free to reply to this post, and I will make sure to document it.

Here is a list of the basic functionalities that the website has at the time of making this post:

>In the top middle, there is a search bar, in which you can write the name of a champion to find it quickly.

>There are "role filters" on top left, allowing you to only see champions from the role you selected.

>The "content creators" tab on the top right takes you to, as you can guess, a page with content creators about Locke. If you are a streamer or YouTuber and you want to be added, please DM me here or on Discord (LxVer8)

>The "difficulty tier list" takes you to a tierlist that places the champions wherever they need to go based on the difficulty set on each champion. At the moment, every single champion is placed at 7 for testing purposes.

Inside of each champion, you can find the following points:

>The name and date of whoever added, changed or removed anything within that champion.

>A difficulty number, that goes from 1 to 10 based on how hard it is to fight that champion in particular (1 being easy, 10 being hard)

>The "general tip" would have an explanation on what to expect in the matchup, maybe with a few quick points about what to do and what not to do.

>In the "game phases" there are 3 options, which have the objective of explaining how to play against the champion relative to the level you both are:

>"Summoner Spells and Abilities" shows the Summoner Spells you should take, as well as the order in which you should max your abilities.

>"Recommended Items" shows, as you can guess, recommended items for that matchup.

>And "Recommended Runes" does the same but for runes.

Ideas that I want to have on the website in the future:

  1. Add a Leaderboard to show the LP of known Locke OTPs.
  2. Add a Trading Patterns section for each champion, with basic trades that you can do against them based on which level the enemy and you are.
  3. Find YouTube videos for each matchup and link them.
  4. Add a History, so you can see how each matchup was played in the past.
  5. Add a Contributors section where the names of everyone that helped the website in any way are going to be.
  6. Make the website mobile-friendly.

If you have any questions, my DMs are open.

Front page of the website.

Aatrox matchup, part 2 (remember that everything is a placeholder)

The code behind the Aatrox matchup. Everything is changed by just writing down whatever you want to show.
