Do you write bars cold on paper first, or only when you've got a beat under you?
Been experimenting: some lines only show up when I'm walking with no beat, others need the pocket first.
What's your split? Pure notebook / notes app first, or do you wait until something's playing?
Not looking for a "right" answer — just how people actually practice writing.
