And the winner is…

Thank you to all who took time to suggest a book, upvoted and who voted in the poll for our first ever book club!

With 50% of the total votes, the winner is….

{This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me by Ilona Andrews}

When Maggie wakes up cold, filthy, and naked in a gutter, it doesn't take her long to recognize Kair Toren, a city she knows intimately from the pages of the famously unfinished dark fantasy series she's been obsessively reading and re-reading while waiting years for the final novel.

Her only tools for navigating this gritty world of rival warlords, magic, and mayhem? Her encyclopedic knowledge of the plot, the setting, and the characters' ambitions and fates. But while she quickly discovers she cannot be killed (though many will try!), the same cannot be said for the living, breathing characters she's coming to lovea motley band that includes a former lady’s maid, a deadly assassin, various outrageous magical creatures, and a dangerously appealing soldier. Soon, instead of trying to get home, she finds herself enmeshed in the schemes*―*and attentionsof dueling princes, dukes, and villains, all while trying to save them and the kingdom of Rellas from the way she knows their stories will end: in a cataclysmic war.

We’ll start reading on September 1, so if you’re interested, now’s the time to look into getting the book!

Book Club is Coming to r/Romantasy

Hi everyone!

A few months ago, I ran a poll to see if there was any interest in starting a book club and there was! With the sub getting so close to 100k members, it seemed like the perfect time to celebrate. I’m so excited to announce that r/Romantasy’s first ever Book Club will be starting this September!

There will be weekly discussion posts through out the month and if you use storygraph, there will also be a book club to join!

If you’d like to be apart of book club, between now and August 6th, please leave a book suggestion in the comments and/or upvote any suggestions you like to read! On August 7th, I’ll run a 5-day poll with the top three suggestions, and then announce the winning book on August 12th to give people a chance to get a copy before we start on September 1st.

A couple of quick notes: No self-promotion, only suggest romantasy books, and please use {Book Title by Author} to summon the bot.

I can’t wait to see what everyone recommends and to start reading together!

No AI Rule Reminder

Hi Everyone,

Over the past few days, there’s been an increase in AI posts. So I’m just here with a reminder that r/Romantasy has zero tolerance for AI generated content. It doesn’t matter if it’s a cover, a meme, written or whatever else the slop can do. No AI allowed, ever, end of story.

We try and keep it easy going here but this is a firm and nonnegotiable rule. AI generated content does *not* belong in creative spaces so let’s keep it that way here.

Please reach out if you have any questions,
Lyss_
