My favorite visual kei flyer

From Cure vol. 50 (September 2007). I remember this project advertised heavily in the magazine and then ultimately gave us nothing.

Hey everyone! I'm setting up this megathread as a repository for frequently asked questions related to the JILUKA tour and as a central area for discussion.

The tour starts May 8th and ends May 30th. Last year JILUKA toured the US as an opening act and this year they're the headliner so it's an exciting time!

Last year on the sub we received many repeat questions such as:

  • What should I wear to the show
  • When should I arrive
  • How does VIP work
  • How much does merch cost?

For those who are new to the sub, please review our sub wiki and search before posting, related posts will be redirected to the discussion in this megathread which will remain pinned for the duration of the tour.

Sharing my HQ scans of GazettE's first interview with SHOXX and a full translation of the interview which you can access here.

Some takeaways from the interview that I found interesting:

  • During this era Ruki often wrote his lyrics from the perspective of a woman because he found it easier to express deep feelings like sadness this way.
  • Akai One Piece is written from the perspective of a dominatrix. Ruki is teased and asked if he is into SM which he denies and Reita suggests it's actually Kai who is into it.
  • Juunanasai is about a 17 year old girl who becomes pregnant and is abandoned by her boyfriend. Ruki got a letter from a fan who had a similar experience and although he appreciated that they could empathize with the song, it also made him feel sorry.
  • At this time the band had a very positive view about their growth, wanting to explore different genres and improve their songs not only through playing them at lives but through differences in opinion as well.

"But I think if we lose that clashing spirit, it's no good. If that growth stops, that's when I think the band itself is over. That's why I have no intention of ever stopping our growth." - Uruha

Hope ya'll enjoy this and I'll continue to work on this deep dive project ^^ I also maintain a catalogue of my magazine collection and accept scan requests.
